  1. Two sides to the same coin, we've been successful and miserable and the latter is more true now, team needs a new identity. The latter I mean the team will eventually change the uniforms whether you like it or not, what are some ideas?
  2. Am I the only Angel fan who shoots from the hip? I've been through 2 accounts here because I speak my mind, won't be losing this account though.
  3. Compelling argument, but I disagree with your denial.
  4. Lou we aren't the Red Sox, Yankees or Dodgers, we've already changed jerseys a handful of times.
  5. Edit: I have revised most of this post I know it's been said before, many of you hate to see it come up again, but today is an off day and I'd rather not focus on the team's performance right now, so hear me out.. In 2002 the Angels changed their uniforms and won a world series 'miraculously' the same year . The Padres changed styles and now they're Slam Diego, the Astros moved on from their old color tone and look at them, albeit they are cheaters but still a force to reckon with, I believe the Nats won on the same year they changed jerseys as well. I'm sure there are more I am missing and I know a lot of these teams went through major rebuilds upon their uniform change but it still makes you wonder, we've had these uniforms for quite some time now, I believe it's time for a new look. I miss the red white blue color tone to be honest, it was minimalist and had a certain intimidating factor to it, even the 1994 road greys looked more intimidating. Laugh or whatever, I just feel like the all white home unis are too 'angelic' and 'nice', I don't want to be the nice Angels, I want to be the competitive indtimidating Angels that nobody wants to face. I also feel like the red and white uniforms were a part of the Scioscia era of Angels baseball, I really do feel like the team needs a new identity to mark the changing times. And we have an amazing set of retro uniforms to glean from. Before you guys write me off, tell me why you don't care OR do you believe this team will never change jerseys again? I just brought some evidence that team identity changes can be good. Interesting ideas: This team will change uniforms, we are not the Dodgers Yankees or Cubs etc. and we have already changed jerseys a handful of times, it's going to happen again. I feel like they can improve on the red and dark blue 90's theme (although the hat from my avatar is perfect imo), some slight modernization and if Arte can quit being part of L.A. to spite the Dodgers, we'll be back to CA/Anaheim Angels in no time.
  6. The Angels will be making moves, we cannot afford to stand pat without improving the staff for next season. And I believe it will be a lot of small moves, nothing major.
  7. Ohtani as a reliable 3 guy that can win you 12-15 games and hit 20-25 hr a season .800 OPS .260 BA would be dreamy and a perennial all-star. And I believe he is easily capable of doing this if he keeps putting in the work. The days of expecting him to be an ace are almost gone, it would be best to not put too much pressure on him, temper expectations, he still has the stuff to be whatever he wants to be though. Ohtani is an incredible athlete and I told my friend the other day and I think you will all agree, only one player has more finesse than Mike Trout, and that's Ohtani. There is something other-worldly about him.
  8. We are not competing next year, no way I am falling for that meme again. We are 1 more year of rebuilding our pitching staff away from getting back into WC contention at the very best. UNLESS we can pull off some magic and retool our staff over winter AND Ohtani becomes a reliable 3 guy ANNNNNND Bundy continues to be top rotation stuff. I give it a 10% chance of happening.
  9. Why does it matter if this team is already this bad? He has already shown he is capable of being two-way, his arm needs to heal and everyone needs to chill the FUCK out and give him one more chance next season, not much else to look forward to anyways.
  10. Ohtani is not 'all players' in fact he's the most interesting project in baseball with plenty of room for growth.
  11. If the rules are to reward spending tankers Angels should get the 1st and 2nd draft pick lol, or even if we have the 5th worst record we should get the 1st pick. Rules are rules.
  12. There are rumblings of a lottery, I don't feel so hot anymore.
  13. The downside to what Ohtani could become elsewhere would further injure Angels fans tortured souls. Just that prospect in itself is daunting and potentially further humiliation. Besides, there's no talent out there half as interesting and I would never return to this franchise if they did this.
  14. It's a reflexive defense mechanism, I exhibited it during the off-season. I am at the acceptance stage and see how excited other teams are to win this year by visiting other forums.
  15. Yeah once this offense locks in, we are going to win games regardless of pitching. As much as I want this team to tank purposefully, they won't and they'll probably still attempt the postseason even after being statistically eliminated. I am hopeful for top 5, this awful start puts us on that trajectory.
  16. So DR players by default are better? gosh I wish I knew that beforehand
  17. Tatis apparently had the same experience coming into this season. I'm going to pretend like I haven't been lied to for over a decade.
  18. So far Adell has looked like one of the most inexperienced top MLB prospects to ever come up since B Wood for the Angels, why do our top prospects almost never pan out? Does the entire league conspire that we have higher consensus prospects than actually exist, just to keep us quiet? Something isn't adding up and it's looking like it's not just the lack of pitching we have to worry about.
  19. Adell owning the worst play likely in this century (a base 4 error from the warning track) will likely always be remembered. Let's hope he uses this as fuel to fire him up, otherwise I think he's going to fold under the pressure.
  20. Do you guys still believe Adell was actually a top 6 prospect? I know these things are intangible but he hasn't shown much of anything while players like Tatis who were ranked similarly are raking or AT THE VERY LEAST showing flashes of what's to come during their struggles, like Trout did with his speed/defense. As far as I'm concerned the farm director and scouts heads are on the block.
  21. I won't reveal my identity but I will say I gots in trouble last year, and Straddy is not my Daddy
  22. Leiter would be a drop off IMO, you want pitchers that are build like tanks ala Lackey, Colon Sabathia etc etc Problem is we have to tank to acquire the tank, this lineup will have days where it can't do wrong and we will win games, I don't see the Angels getting anything higher than top 3 pick. Our pitching will have to be historically bad for us to have the worst record in baseball.
