  1. One of the more interesting FA signing stories we’ve all ever heard, as well. Growing up and graduating from Corona High, I’ve been to that very Del Taco many times. Kind of wild that it was this exact location of all places.
  2. I started watching Succession, too. I think I have two episodes (that I’ll finish today) left of season 3 then the wait until season 4 in spring of next year. I was hoping for a little better, but watching some of the recaps and reading a bit more of the back stories, I’m hanging in there. All they did was use the HBO formula that they used with Entourage and Ballers, but with a family business dynamic…..it’s rather astounding how within the construct of the timeline there is a new issue, problem, drama, etc. all while everyone plays “I Spy” They tried a little too hard to make the characters each unique and quirky, but they also balance it at times and give some of them depth or make them more nuanced. Greg and his damn muttering nonstop is too much.
  3. It’s fine for vegetarians and actually healthier….both for meat eaters and vegetarians. Certain enzymes and reductions removed in regular meat make it healthier for carnivores. On the same token, vegetarian meats are extremely bad for you and so overly processed with chemicals and ingredients to try and make them taste like their real life counterparts….thus, you are better off eating the real thing than over processed chemicals that do more harm. Where it gets tricky is for vegans and comes down to their ethical stance. If their stance is they simply don’t consume animal byproducts, then this won’t be for them. Even though it’s completely engineered, it’s created and formulated from animal cells. So there is that component. However, if someone is vegan because of animal killing/slaughter houses, then this would be perfectly fine as no animals are killed and just their cells are being used to create. Two interesting side notes I’m curious about is cost and manufacturing. At the moment, the cost is still too high (as with most new technology) for creation and an average hamburger was between $9.50-$10.00, which isn’t a sustainable price point. The other is taste from manufacturing. They are developing these to be healthier, but that means they are creating these without the same fat as regular steak and thus the marbling and flavor profile is going to be completely different. Another interesting point someone else brought up in an article I read was how the obesity numbers can have an uptick from over consumption due to these being healthier or marketed as healthier. It would be like how certain vegetarian products say they are healthier or a keto ice cream is healthier so people consume more thinking they are eating something healthy or healthier and adding on more calories.
  4. Kind of a guilty pleasure flick. It's basically Rounders (poker) for the pool community. If you don't have Oscar worthy expectations going in it's just a fun little film like Rounders or 21, for the genre. Fun fact: That trick shot that Christopher Walken makes in the movie was really him shooting and making it in one shot. I watched some making of the film or behind the scenes thing and they talked about how all the reactions in the movie were real because of it being done in one shot.
  5. Biggest shit show in the NFL. I thought they would do well with how they made the playoffs, played well, and then had a good offseason. Then the disaster bug hits and they beyond suck or find ways to lose. All while today Mark Davis came out and said McDaniel is doing fantastic.
  6. A bunch of us here liked it. Wish they could have found a way to continue the show or have it last longer than a miniseries. For that genre, HBO did well with this show and The Night Of.
  7. Gambling here is getting smoked. Surprised how many states are no on marijuana, even if they generally run very conservative.
  8. The NFL just flexed the Chiefs/Chargers game on the 20th to primetime and booted the Bengals/Steelers.
  9. Are the Lakers trying to sell the team? That was the basis and context of my post.
  10. The insider trading? Yeah, it's wild. Her and her husband have outperformed Warren Buffett and the greatest hedge fund managers by some ridiculous percentage that doesn't even make sense. In a way it's comical and in another way it just speaks to the corruption. There are funny videos where people in the press ask her questions about it while at the podium and she does these weird ass things or says weird ass shit to dodge the questions on insider trading.
  11. Like we talk about every time this stuff comes up, once Harold Baines got in all bets were off. They should just change it to the Hall of Good.
  12. Lads, I don't put these chicks in my avatar for myself. She's been up there for a minute for your enjoyment......or for someone to ask who she is and have these posts, I suppose. Another lady from the football/soccer world for your enjoyment.
  13. In a weird way this is an obvious statement. He's an MVP caliber player and the team is up for sale. Ohtani is a small piece that makes acquiring the Angels exciting, with the bravado from a new owner that they will be able to resign him, etc. It would be like trading Lebron James in the middle of trying to sell the team. Just doesn't make sense from a business or enticement standpoint.
  14. I'd give her all of her boob pics on the internet for all of her insider trading knowledge
  15. You really could monetize it that way. Pelosi, Trump for the Libs, Biden for the Reps, intelligent people for the woke mob, cats, etc.
  16. It would be dope if you could bring your own targets
  17. I was literally thinking this as I saw the thread title. I always feel old when I see dudes as coaches that I watched in college or coming up.
  18. There will always be something with these assholes. It’s like how these woke morons are saying math is racist or the way they are teaching kids math is racist because inner city test scores are down. Just absurd. Always something.
  19. That makes sense. I'm not on the site, but when you see celebs or athletes in trouble or needing to clarify things the sports websites I'd read would show 5-6 consecutive tweets or those notepad looking pics of what they wanted to say but couldn't in it's format. Elon going the Onlyfans way with monetization. Watch all the porn that will takeover even more than it already does on Twitter.
  20. I don't have the disdain for the Astros. They are in our division now, but growing up they were always a NL team that weren't very good outside of a couple years with the Killer B's. They haven't even been in the AL a decade. I couldn't be more indifferent or give a fuck that they won. Although, I thought they would decline when they started losing key components and star players only to retool and be just as strong. That's pretty impressive and something to admire. I wish the Angels could sustain or even build something like this.
  21. Same. I’ve known mine since I was a kid with my first license. Felt like it was always needed….various bank accounts, healthcare, insurance, various forms, etc. Also, it’s not like there are a ton of personal numbers that belong to one’s self that we all need to remember.
