  1. No, but it would make the risk more necessary to take now. Since there’s now nobody left to sign. Thanks for playing.
  2. Hell, that was before Keuchel went off the board.
  3. Eppler must be working on a trade. It’s honestly the only thing that makes sense. I refuse to believe that Eppler can be dumb enough to think the current rotation is adequate enough.
  4. Well, he was the last remaining “good” FA starter. The only way the Angels can acquire one now is via trade. And other teams will know that the Angels need pitching and can’t sign anyone now...
  5. Trading Marsh would be fine if they can get someone like Jon Gray, for example. But yeah...Eppler better be working on something to make sense of all of this.
  6. Eppler better be working on a trade for someone like Jon Gray. That’s the only thing that HAS to make sense, right? Surely Eppler isn’t stupid enough to think this current rotation will get the Angels to the postseason?
  7. He has to be working on a trade for someone like Syndergaard, Clevinger, etc. Right? ......
  8. Haha I’m now convinced that’s what he really wants. Now other teams know how desperate the Angels are for pitching and will make the Angels overpay in any trade talks.
  9. Since this is subjective and based on one’s own expectations, I’d give him a C only because of Rendon (though Arte had something to do with that). Would be an F without Rendon. He can still get to a B or even an A if he can acquire a frontline starter.
  10. Damn man, so you’re saying Marsh is nothing special? I thought he’d be worth a lot more given how so many experts here talk about him.
  11. Who knows? Maybe Marsh, Canning and Deveaux could get it done.
  12. The Angels need an ace/top of the rotation arms. They should part with Marsh and Canning, if necessary.
  13. Well...that sucks, then. I guess it’s back to stockpiling back-of-the-rotation arms, then.
  14. Lindor isn’t necessary. The putting together a package for Clevinger part is up to Eppler. He’s the GM. The Angels surely have something that can entice Cleveland, right?
  15. Of course they are. The Dodgers aim high, even when they don’t necessarily need starting pitching. It would be nice to see some interest from the Angels, instead of stockpiling back-of-the-rotation arms.
  16. I don’t believe it. Eppler can’t be that dumb. He has to be working on something else.
  17. The Angels couldn’t go 3/56? I really hope that this is only because Eppler is aiming a lot higher than Keuchel...
  18. Well, let’s hope so. I don’t know if the Angels are in a position for an experiment (they need certainty at this point), though maybe they can extract some value out of him. I hope that Eppler has something else up his sleeve (a trade for a #1/#2 type?) because this is underwhelming, so far.
  19. There’s a reason this guy couldn’t get any more than a one-year deal and for only $9 million. Because the underlying numbers suggest he’s another Blanton waiting to happen. Steamer is projecting an ERA close to 5.5 with a 0.5 WAR.
  20. Don’t complain if/when he posts a 5-6 ERA, then, and the Angels end up releasing him.
  21. So, barring a collapse on his part, 10/360 is almost guaranteed. Ya, he chose the Yankees because of the years/$. No other team came even close to that.
  22. They should. What were they going to do with Marsh, anyway? Trout and Adell will be here for many years. Upton still has upside and isn’t going anywhere. Where does that leave Marsh? And it’s not like it’d be hard to get an OF once Upton’s contract expires.
  23. Ryu is probably the kind of player who’d just mail it in after getting his contract. The Dodgers know that in all likelihood and are avoiding him.
  24. Keuchel and Gray would be the best the Angels can do out of the remaining free agents and reportedly available trade targets.
