With the amount of training, technology and practice today's players go through there's no doubt, absolutely no doubt they'd destroy the Williams era players. Humans evolve. There are two major issues on this team right now. The old D getting top tier playing time (minutes and high leverage situations) and the fact this is a 1 line only team. The Rico line has disappeared, the Kesler line is awful, and the 4th line is the 4th line putting together exactly what you'd expect. That's what NSH, DAL, and STL have exposed. This team has zero depth offensively. Silf, Ritchie, Cogs, Kesler etc. are all wastes of space atm. I fully expect Silf and Ritchie to be gone in the off season or at least I fucking hope they are. Kesler needs to be shut down and work on coming back healthy next season 100%. Seeing Beauch and Bieksa on the ice almost the entire 3rd period with the Getzlaf line is a fucking disgrace. NO reason those 2 should be out there when we need goals.

I decided not to watch after hearing 23 and 3 would be in the lineup. That's an automatic L. Carlyle looked like he was learning a bit but then goes back to being an idiot. Nashville is a polished machine right now. They're going all the way imo (unfortunately)

So GMBM had a breakfast STH meeting today and addressed some stuff. He said they'll know this week whether or not Eaves will play again this season but said he's pretty sure he'll be playing next season. He also said the asking price for Max-Pac was a top Winger and a prospect. Karlsson was 4-5 pieces including mostly young talent. The funniest part was him saying with a straight face that this team isn't old. I couldn't help but laugh at that.

Another interesting option would be calling Detroit on Kronwall. Signed through next year and putting up a 52 Corsi. Physical player and handles the puck well. Could be what Fowler needs.Detroit is in full sell mode.

Ritchie has no business being on this team next year. He's gone imo. Wagner does everything he can but better. Larsson I'm predicting is gone too. Think about it. Megna, Welinski, and Pettersson all getting call ups over him. Lots of the writers are saying Larsson has taken a huge step back and he's getting exposed quite a bit. Some even saying he had no business being a 1st rounder. I'm putting my money on the Pettersson train. He was widely regarded as the most impressive D prospect in camp and arguably NHL ready. We'll see tonight!

In 2018-19 I'd love to see Pax-Getz-Rak Kase-Rico-Perry Cogs-Kes-Wags (Kes and Wags throwing out hits like its MJ in the 80s) Roy-Grant-Brown Cam-Montour Hamp-Manson Pettersson- FA/Trade Imagine if Eaves actually comes back? He was skating on Saturday. Allows us to flip a FW for some D help possibly or use him as trade bait next deadline if he's solid. I feel for Roy in this situation but Kase has earned himself a shot at the top 6.

Ducks should really be selling tbh. Even if they get into the playoffs they're no threat. At least not a real one. Sell off any assets we have and start planning for next year. Call up the kids after and let them get their beaks wet. See what we have in the farm. Send Beauch and Bieksa to the press box where they belong and let Pettersson and Megna have their chance. Ideally, I'd like these guys to be gone either at the deadline or by the draft. Vermette (Vermeh for AO) Silf Ritchie I'm okay to keep Wagner because of his physical play and he's a solid platoon guy that can play any FW position in the bottom 6.

Holzer put on waivers too. Some sources saying Pettersson was called up but no official confirmation.

Bob McKenzie on his podcast talked about the Ducks. Says they're in a similar spot the Rangers are right now. Bubble team on the outside looking in. He said there hasn't been enough sense of progression in the ANA front office and coaching staff to have full confidence in this team. He said he wouldn't be surprised to see the Ducks become sellers at the deadline if the next two weeks don't go well. I'm somewhat in agreement with him. This season was just shit from the start with all of the injuries. Might just have to suck it up and fold the season and focus on next year. Sell off some pieces either now or at the draft depending on the value of assets. The way the team is right now I don't give them a chance in the playoffs. Maybe a 2nd round team but that's being generous. Too much inconsistency here all around. He mentioned guys like Vermette and Wagner as trade options. Can throw Silf and Ritchie in there too of course.
