  1. He's a Corey Perry clone when Perry is at his worst.
  2. Of the 7-8 starters we have I trust 0. We need someone dependable. That anchor that we'll know every 5th day they're going to go out there and give us 6 or more innings and keep us in the ball game. I legit can't say I believe any of our current starters can do that. Ohtani obviously has that potential but we'll see how that goes. I'd be much more comfortable with a veteran arm in the rotation. Doesn't have to be Yu or Jake.
  3. NY Rangers put out a statement today saying they're about to unload everyone. Put it in perspective here. They're almost exactly in the same spot the Ducks are. Outside looking in. One of the bubble teams. Now they're a much older team than Anaheim but I give them a lot of credit here. They know even if they squeak into the playoffs they won't be a threat. With that said.. Almost seems like it's destined to happen. Rick Nash is coming to Anaheim.
  4. Beauch isn't going anywhere. He's retiring a Duck whether it's on the ice or in the press box. Bieksa has the NMC and has no incentive to waive it. If we were to go for Gally/Benn it would be Silf, Holzer?, and a pick. I'd be interested in that move.
  5. Gotcha, GB. Yeah I agree with that. Habs are out of the playoff picture. These two match up perfectly for a deal. Max Pac would be the ideal move to really put us over the top but in typical GMBM fashion it'll probably be Gally. Although, Gally and Petry has me thinking too... I'd be okay with that.
  6. I was listening to the Anaheim Calling podcast after the Leafs game. Jeff Marek was their guest. He's not too high on Steel. He sees his ceiling being a 2nd line Center. Which most of the guys on the cast agreed with. He's not going to be elite but will be solid. Hey, I'll take a 2nd line C in the 1st round. My guess would be something along the lines of Henrique with a little more scoring skill. He's taken a step back this season in the WHL. Still highly valuable but not the franchise player some believe he is.
  7. No GM wants Ritchie. He could be an added piece in a deal but no way he can be the centerpiece in anything worth while. Silf needs to go too. I'm with you there. We need scoring threats. Not a guy who goes on a 2 week run and then flops the next month. He's too inconsistent. However, his defensive game and friendly contract gives him some value. Kesler is what it is like you said. That's gonna be the worst contract along with Perry's. At least Perry has contributed during this road trip. Kesler will be the shutdown 3rd line C the rest of the way. We'll never expect much in terms of points from him but he'll still be a pest on the ice and will shut down opposing top lines.
  8. Ritchie won't be a Duck next season. He by far is the biggest bust we've had post 2012 lockout. He can't even be a Maroon type player. He's an RFA after next season I believe. At this point I much rather have Roy, Kerdiles, etc. filling that role. I agree with Kesler. He's still working his way back. I think we won't have a healthy Kesler till next season. That's when we'll be able to truly evaluate him and see if it's just age catching up or if it truly was just him rehabbing that injury.
  9. This article is so bad. Ducks aren't in need of any help at D? This article lost credibility right after reading that. I'd love to get Petry and Pac. A 2018 1st and 2019 2nd, Silvferberg, Ritchie, Larsson gets us to the table. We definitely match up with the Habs here. All gonna depend on what they want as the prospect. Young stud Dman or young stud FW (Steel). Both of which I'd have no issue shipping off for Max.
  10. We don't need Beauch. Megna does exactly what he does except he's bigger and about 15 years younger lol. Also, Lindholm's numbers a re very deceiving imo. He gets out muscled so often and loses the puck. He has a lot of work to do. He's taken a big step back imo even with the advanced stats saying he's still BAU.
  11. They can maybe run 4 D primarily in the playoffs for a bit but that's just way too much to ask for. We'd need to clone Duncan Keith a few times to make that happen hah.
  12. Here's a look at how the starting 6 are doing defensively via Corsi/Fenwick. Note this is just even strength. I don't have the strength to look at PK/PP numbers. Beauch- 46.7/48.3 Bieksa- 44.4/44.3 Fowler- 47.8/48.4 Holzer- 45.1/46.7 Lindholm- 53.3/53.6 Manson- 50.9/51.5 Montour- 48.0/48.0 Megna- 44.4/43.0 Obviously this isn't the end all be all but my God... Only having 1 pairing in the + is disturbing. Bieksa is so so so so bad but even worse is Carlyle putting him in high leverage situations and with the extra man on. WHY IS HE ON THE ICE WHEN YOU NEED TO SCORE?! That's something Carlyle truly needs to answer for. There's no reason that guy should be on the ice when we're chasing goals. Fowler's Corsi is down 2% this season and you can absolutely attribute that to Bieksa.
  13. You should definitely say the D is awful, GB. Lindholm has taken a huge step back this season. Manson, I'll actually admit he's improved although he still makes a boneheaded play here and there. Fowler's offense has started to show with the apples. Defensively though, I believe he's been a bit down but that's also due to his D partner, KB3. KB3 and Beauch not only take up 2 spots they shouldn't even be in but they're bringing down 2 young star D men too in Fowler and Montour.
  14. I've said it before and I'll say it again. GMBM has no offensive talent evaluation skill when it comes to prospects. Okay, maybe some but far and few between. Along with handing out NTCs and NMCs like they're a fan giveaway doesn't help either. This team desperately needs another young star to pair with Rakell for the future. We hope its Steel or Terry but that's not for certain of course. The Ducks are in such a bad spot. Granted, a full healthy season and we're probably right there with Vegas atop of the Pacific so I don't want to panic TOO much but the signs are there. This team's core is getting older. Something has to give.
  15. A little late here but I'd do that too. What GB mentioned in that article, a 1st, prospect, roster player, conditional pick = 1st, Larsson, Ritchie/Silf, 5th that can turn into a 4th or 3rd pending Cup run. Hell, if Kane and Risto are coming back I'd do Ritchie and Silf, not just either or.
  16. So Anaheim Calling, the SB Nation page for the Ducks with some really good writers on there have been doing a trade value analysis segment but today they posted 4 or 5 trades they'd like to see happen and could possibly be done. The one that stood out to me and I want this done ASAP if possible. 2018 first round pick, Kase, Larsson for Max-Pac. His contract is insanely team friendly for the production and he's exactly what we've needed for years. A top line LW that shoots left and scores at will. If we could pull that off. Oh man!
  17. Agree completely with what you said here. His 2017 season really soured my opinion of him. So many players outperformed their expectations and Kole was one of the few that fell down a peg or two. If he can rebound to 2015/2016 type numbers that would be solid. Especially for what we're paying him. If Adell/Jones/Hermosillo take positive steps forward this season though I'd look to deal him next off season. Or the pipe dream of Harper in RF hah!
  18. He hasn't been around for ages it feels like. Unless he goes by another name now.
  19. That was a big win. We've won our last 9 games against Boston. Of course they didn't have Marchand, McAvoy, or Rask playing so that's kinda big but 2 points is 2 points. Gotta take care of business going forward.
  20. I've come to terms with him going in as an Expo. It makes sense. His seasons in Montreal destroyed anything he ever did with us.
  21. Sign JD Martinez to DH for 1 year 40 mill and Yu for 1 year 35 mill. Time to Kevin Durant this sum bitch.
  22. Yeah. Delete it, Chuck. Vlad posted something on Facebook saying this wasn't true. My bad lol
  23. This should be a great thread. https://www.thescore.com/news/1472108 Guerrero's agent, Jesse Guerrero, said that while there's been speculation that the former slugger would go in as a member of the Anaheim Angels (now theLos Angeles Angels), Vladimir would prefer to enter as a member of the Expos - a team he spent eight seasons with.
