I wouldn’t give up a single top five prospect for a reliever.  I would consider Ward or Thiass if it would give me a good arm for 2 plus years.

I don’t think they would bring a closer with club control for 2+ years

Long term solutions are going to cost a heck of a lot more than the 11th and 12th best prospects.

    The “throw in prospect”

    Yohanse Morel, RHP
    Age: 17

Morel is an intriguing, deep-sleeper pickup for the Royals. As an amateur, Morel trained as an outfielder in the Dominican Republic but moved to the mound before signing with the Nationals last year for $100,000 on July 2. Morel threw 88-91 mph when he signed but since then his fastball has jumped to 95 mph. With his fast arm speed and room to fill out his 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame, Morel has a chance to throw even harder in the future. He shows feel for a power slider and has the athleticism that should bode well for his ability to repeat his delivery and make adjustments. He made his pro debut with one start in the Dominican Summer League on June 2.

I personally believe guys like Parker and Anderson would do better in 6th-8th inning roles.  Less stress.  Also, just because they got Herrera, doesn't mean they couldn't have gotten someone else.

So you would deplete the farm system to trade for 2-3 relievers for us to maybe make the playoffs this year lol

He isn’t a rental, which is good.

Trade for Hand and sign Herrera as a FA?   Then the other younger Halos relievers slot in much better.

We would prbly have to give up jam Jones + 2 mid/low level for someone with 2.5 years control

he did.  I felt bad for him.  He's gonna be fine long term but they shouldn't be throwing him in tie games that we need to win.  would have been nice if he went out there like a baller and owned the place though.

He has great stuff. Jewell became a reliever this year and it seems Eppler rushed him to the big leagues. Anderson became a reliever in 2017 and gave him an entire year in the minors. They also gave Middleton a year in ththe minors. I wouldn’t be surprised if they send Jewell down for the rest of the year when they bring up Tuesday’s starter just to learn how to be a reliever. But with our bullpen situation who knows..
