New play by play guy should let the video of the game speak for itself sometimes. Seems like he feel the need to say “ground ball” when a ground ball is hit, “throws to first”, etc and it just isn’t necessary to say out loud everything when you are pbp for a game on tv. Obviously for radio you have to paint the whole picture but for tv you can sometimes just let the game speak for itself and after a guy grounds out you can then just say “two outs.”

Isn’t it funny that Simmons was so commonly considered a player to build around and now he seems like a “so what?” player. . .

So once again the complaint is that something isn’t easy. For the 20th time, welcome to life.

Total spin. I gave no financial advice (just made a sarcastic comments about the subject of taking financial advice from financially successful people). I consistently make a simple point. Their complaints are basically saying “we are outraged that we have to do whatever pretty much every young person does.” My “advice” is get over yourself and stop thinking you are entitled to have an experience less difficult than pretty much everybody at your age. As soon as you do that, you have probably gained one of the most important thing you can achieve in your youth.

Yeah how stupid to listen to successful well off people on what you should do with your money. That’s some crazy shit for sure.

I am with you. Angels farm system would be stellar if they made sure these guys slept on full mattresses instead of twins, and never had to share a microwave.

The only problem Strad is this entire subject of the name change IS political. It just is. You can’t discuss it without that being at the center of it. It’s not like someone started a thread about mlb changing the balk rule and somebody went off the rails politically.

Actually the whole thread is about minor leaguers complaining about being given gigantic chunks of money, having roommates, and going to Taco Bell instead of buying carrots. And people citing what they did isn’t bragging it is simply showing how ridiculous what these player complaints are compared to what normal people do when they are young getting started in whatever they do.

Low value jobs pay low wages. That is the definition of fair.

I have always been paid fairly. Yes that is a good thing. And working hard brings you opportunities others who whine likely won’t get. And now, I am very comfortable. You don’t get it. Seriously.

I got paid what the jobs were worth. You missed the point. You make your own way and stop this “my employer owes me an amount I need” garbage.

Well there are never clean dishes so that’s annoying. But I am not going to starve.

Sold flowers on the street corner. Worked as a dishwasher. Waited tables. Did janitorial work at night. Worked as a painter. Sanded boat bottoms by hand (fuck that was hard). Drove a shuttle to the airport for $1 tips. Shoveled rocks and dirt for cash. Delivered pizza. I could go on. None of these jobs paid a “living wage” but I certainly lived. And it all works out if you decide to take care of yourself and work hard and quit whining that somebody else owes you something.

Then he finds a way to make a living like every other person?

Over 9 years that is $44,444 a year plus his monthly to play ball. I didn’t make $44k a year at that age.
