@TheLordofOuts You think the last wildcard team is going to need 92 wins? The Rays got in last year with 86 wins in the AL and the Phillies with 87 in the NL. I think somewhere between 87 and 90 wins gets a wildcard spot.
87 win scenario:
The Angels need to win 42 of their remaining 71 games which MIGHT be enough for a wildcard spot. That would mean going 42-29 with a win % of .591 in those games.
90 win scenario:
45-26 win% .634 in those games.
Their schedule is going to be tough, especially August. Everything will have to go right.

Probably not realistic depending on the number of fans and buy in and not sure if MLB has rules against it. But if the team is valued roughly at $2billion that means at least 500,000 fans would buy in at $4k a share, 1 million fans $2k a share etc. Or do something similar to the Packers with stock sales for a couple hundred with a limit on the amount an individual can purchase. Just a fun thought.
• Any fan could potentially buy a share of the team ( The Packers currently have over 500,000 owners)
• Fan elected board of directors who have the team's best interest in mind so we wouldn't have to worry about a profiteering, crappy, or meddling owner
• Profits get reinvested in the staff, operations, and infrastructure
New Yorker article about the Packers being a not for profit fan owned team

With 97 games left, the Angels would need a winning % of .618 in those games to get to 90 wins and maybe get a wildcard spot. Not looking good

I don't get this trade if Pederson isn't flipped. Team controlled player in Rengifo drawing from infield surplus for one year of a lefty corner outfielder we don't need when Adell is knocking on the door and Goodwin, who is a lefty, is holding down RF. Does this mean Simba gets an extension now?

Won’t Bemboom be needed as backup to start the year? Stassi may miss time.
You are right. Looking at the 40 man roster I'd say maybe one of our fringe pitchers gets the axe.
-
So the 40 man roster was already full right? I'm thinking Bemboom gets removed to make room for Castro.

Pat Rapp or Ken Hill. Angels are bringing back the periwinkle for opening day this year

So who are the notable FA pitchers for next off-season that we miss out on?

Why was Trout able to get #27 so quickly after Vlad wasn't brought back? Most people could tell just from watching him that he was special. Nobody wears #15 after Salmon, albeit Salmon was home grown and played his whole career with us. But he wasnt as good as Vlad. When he gets to the MLB HOF the Angels should definitely retire his number even with Trout still wearing it.

Can we keep EY Jr in the lineup when Trout comes back? He brings a lot of energy. Maybe he can play a decent second base

Arya's direwolf is still running loose somewhere between Winterfell and Kings Landing. Maybe she will get some warg action.

I could watch that baseball hit off Garcia's head all day

Really weird game. I blame this win on the fans who were yelling at Melky Cabrera constantly for the last 3 innings straight who eventually slipped running in on that bloop.

Last news I read was late April saying he hasn't been throwing yet.

Doesn't look like Lamb will be an option anytime soon. Just got suspended 50 games for failed drug test.

Hopefully he gains some composure this time. He looked very nervous last time he started for the Angels

Has Cowart been getting most of his playing time at 2b this year in AAA? He made a few flashy plays last year in his limited time at 2nd with the Angels
All they need to do is play .667 baseball....

No way this team can play .600+ win% ball the rest of the way.
