...so a guy who's career BA is .256 and has only 184 Ks in 2,000 career PAs can't hit his way out of a paper bag? Coupled with his amazing defense, anything better than that is gravy. Look at his 15.2 career dWAR. Plus he's only 26.

Neither does KC....and a lot of other teams, if you're looking at a Scherzer or Price type. Richards has been our de facto Ace, but he has a very good chance to be a bona fide Ace. Technically, he has better stuff than Keuchel.

Yeah, he said in an interview last week that he was aiming for .280. He said he wants to have a lot of RBIs, but he'll let Mike Trout and Albert Pujols take care of that.

His career avg is .256. 56 points above the Mendoza Line. Only 184 Ks in almost 2000 career PAs. Not too worried about his offense. That's not why he was acquired anyways.

I'm not much into big signings. The Angels "won" the offseason before 2012, signing the best SP and position player on the market, and didn't make the playoffs. They signed Hammy and didn't make the playoffs in 2013. The offseason before the 2009 season, Arte couldn't sign Teixeira, so made "smaller" signings - Rivera, Fuentes, Abreu, gave Morales a chance - and won 97 games and advanced to the ALCS. Arte made no big signings last year too, and despite the Joyce failure and Hamilton debacle, the Angels were in postseason contention until the final game of the regular season.
