  1. No radar gun and they haven't mentioned it yet. Scouts may have their own guns but haven't heard yet.
  2. Maury Wills was a west coast player (Dodgers). No doubt Mays was the more valuable player, but the East Coast Bias wasn't the reason for that season at least. Obviously it had to play in, in other years though.
  3. Good: Richards, Heaney, Pujols, Wilson (against the consensus), Cron, Calhoun, Skaggs, Johnny G, Simmons, Escobar, Nava and Trout (higher average less SO.) Bad: Weaver, Shoemaker That's the plan.
  4. Digital First gets court OK to buy The Orange County Register, Press-Enterprise http://www.ocregister.com/articles/-709037--.htm
  5. Trout in CF and a GG in RF is all we need to have the best OF in terms of WAR and that's without a LF at all. So far Nava is making me forget we didn't get a star FA to play LF. I hope I can say the same in July.

  7. It looked like the ball bounced off the fence and then off of him before it ended up under the fence. It wasn't like it was wedged under there anyway, it was easy to pick up where it was.
  8. Good: Richards, Heaney, Pujols, Wilson (against the consensus), Cron, Calhoun, Skaggs, Johnny G, Simmons, Escobar, Nava and Trout (higher average less SO.) Bad: Weaver, Shoemaker
  9. Trout has only 1 SO this spring. I hopes this is a sign of things to come. Imagine what he can do if he cuts the So outs in half. BA over .320, OBP .460+, it could be amazing.

  11. I wonder why they cancelled the game against the Bees in Salt Lake City? Well I checked the weather report and it's rain and snow at Salt Lake today.
  12. I wish they were going to televise the Bee's game tomorrow instead of the Arizona game. With Trout, Kole, and others playing there would be a better game to watch. Besides I've never seen the Bee's stadium. I think it could be a fun game to watch.
  13. Pujols may not be the the player he was in St. Louis, but he still had a season last year that many younger players would be happy with. The problem is he is paid $20M more than them. It's Albert's salary and the number of years he has left that make him look bad.
  14. I'm less confident than Weaver. 78-81mph isn't going to cut it. 3 runs in 4 innings in the minors is not good either.
  15. That is the second time in 2 days that Nava has been hit in the back of his head.

Fox Sports West is a tape delay and no radio today.
  17. Neither of them were given any chance at spring training, so it doesn't surprise one bit they didn't do well at camp. I mean when you get 2 or 3 ABs every 5 or 6 games it's nearly impossible to get any rhythm going. A player needs time to get the timing down and to fine tune their swing. Besides Escobar has been tearing it up so far in the spring, enough so to make up for his less than stellar defense.
  18. Great Nava takes a fast ball off the back of his head. He leaves the game as a precautionary move. Just when it looks like we have a found someone to play LF that can hit. I hope he is OK... I think he will be since he wanted to stay in the game.

  20. Maybe we should prohibit Pujols from bringing his son in the locker room. It worked for the White Sox.
  21. Tyler Ward gunned down the runner trying to steal second with a quick release and a strong throw.
  22. Our depth is 2 pitchers coming off injuries, one pitcher throwing high 70s to low 80mph. A rookie Tropeano, and a very erratic Shoemaker and Santiago (Dr. Jeckel or Mr Hyde). The only starters I have complete faith in are Heaney and Richards. Don't get me wrong I have a feeling our pitching we be good to very good with the exception of Weaver and Shoemaker.
