    Yeah I think they burned through the entire bullpen, Barria only lasted 2 innings due to a high pitch count.

    Scioscia had him warming down in the pen in the 9th inning on Sunday, in case the Angels tied it.

    Seriously.. I think Cole was relived to still have his head in his shoulders after that shot up the middle. Trouty just missed the fastball in his prior at bat, as well on the fly out to center.

    I’ve noticed that skaggs doesn’t really have a Strikeout pitch, the curveball keeps them off the fastball but they just foul it off and he can’t blow the fastball by people at 92

    It’s not that I “gave up” on it as much as I’m a realist and I have known since the end of last season that the Angels really didn’t have the means to compete with Houston for the division title. I mean Eppler has done a terrific job but how do you build a starting staff like Houston’s or Boston’s without destroying the farm system he has worked so hard to rebuild?

    Damn 1-5 homestand, not really what we were expecting. Oh well, it’s a long season full of ups and downs. I think we all knew going in we didn’t really stack up with Boston and Houston but if we can get 92 or 93 wins and win the wild card game I’ll be happy. Especially with the bright spots we have in the minors. Just a bad homestand. Go get em in Houston.
