http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-files/groups/family-research-council Here are some quotes from them. The FRC is a lovely group...don't you think? And seriously MT...I don't know anyone who is part of the Aryan Brotherhood...I've never met Charles Manson...there are certain people and groups you can't form opinions on without meeting them personally. Sometimes who you voluntarily decide to associate with says all that is needed. “The reality is, homosexuals have entered the Scouts in the past for predatory purposes.â€â€“ FRC vice president Rob Schwarzwalder, on radio’s “The Janet Mefferd Show,†Feb. 1, 2013.“[H]omosexual activists vehemently reject the evidencewhich suggests that homosexual men … are … relative to their numbers, more likely to engage in such actions [childhood sexual abuse] than are heterosexual men.â€â€“ Peter Sprigg, Senior Fellow for Policy Studies at FRC, on why the Boy Scouts should not allow LGBT Scouts or leaders, FRC blog, February 1, 2013.“The videos are titled 'It Gets Better.' They are aimed at persuading kids that although they'll face struggles and perhaps bullying for 'coming out' as homosexual (or transgendered or some other perversion), life will get better. …It's disgusting. And it's part of a concerted effort to persuade kids that homosexuality is okay and actually to recruit them into that lifestyle." — Tony Perkins, FRC fundraising letter, August 2011"Those who understand the homosexual community—the activists—they're very aggressive, they're—everything they accuse us of they are in triplicate. They're intolerant, they're hateful, vile, they're spiteful. .... To me, that is the height of hatred, to be silent when we know there are individuals that are engaged in activity, behavior, and an agenda that will destroy them and our nation."— Tony Perkins, Speaking to the Oak Initiative Summit, April 2011 "We believe the evidence shows … that relative to the size of their population, homosexual men are more likely to engage in child sexual abuse than are heterosexual men."— Peter Sprigg, "Debating Homosexuality: Understanding Two Views." 2011.“While activists like to claim that pedophilia is a completely distinct orientation from homosexuality, evidence shows a disproportionate overlap between the two. … It is a homosexual problem.â€â€” FRC President Tony Perkins, FRC website, 2010“[W]elcoming open homosexuality in the military would clearly damage the readiness and effectiveness of the force – in part because it would increase the already serious problem of homosexual assault in the military.â€â€” Peter Sprigg, “Homosexual Assault in the Military," 2010"A little-reported fact is that homosexual and lesbian relationships are far more violent than are traditional married households."-- Timothy Dailey, FRC publication, "Homosexual Parenting: Placing Children at Risk," 2002“Gaining access to children has been a long-term goal of the homosexual movement.â€â€” Robert Knight, FRC director of cultural studies, and Frank York, 1999“[Homosexuality] … embodies a deep-seated hatred against true religion.â€â€” Steven Schwalm, FRC senior writer and analyst, in “Desecrating Corpus Christi,†1999"One of the primary goals of the homosexual rights movement is to abolish all age of consent laws and to eventually recognize pedophiles as the 'prophets' of a new sexual order." —1999 FRC publication, "Homosexual Behavior and Pedophilia," Robert Knight and Frank York
Oh, and let's not forget their backing of the Uganda "kill the gays" bill a few years back.
Such a wholesome, loving group!!!

Why would anyone defend this hate group?
MT, you realize FRC is a nationally designated hate group, yeah? Like the Aryan Brotherhood and Nation of Islam.
-
My dearly departed grandmother was a bigot. Her favorite word (after "Jesus", of course) was nigger.
Doesn't mean I didn't love her dearly. She was just an ill-informed, uneducated bigot.
-
I don't hate the members of FRC or AFA, just the groups as a whole.
Love the sinner but hate the sin, right?
-
Do you know one person who is part of the FRC?
If not maybe you should stop saying things like that.
I would hope that nobody I associate with voluntarily is a part of that vile hate group.
They are Westboro Baptist with a suit and tie.
-
Yes, that is the part that is totally unacceptable to me. Head should roll regarding the cover-up.
As far as Josh if the rest of you guys won't be happy unless he loses his job, house and kids....... have at it.
He's already resigned as Executive Bigot of FRC.

It went to court, there was a judgment handed down. Would you like a pound of flesh?
It never went to court. The "judgment" (counseling with a family friend) was handed down by the church.
-
Because......................
Christian.
Wrong. Because of the rampant hypocrisy here.
The FRC (which until yesterday, Duggar was an Exec.Director) has a well-documented history of demonizing gays as being a threat to children.
Duggar and his parents have promoted this stance knowing all along what he was/is capable of.
Edit: Or basically, go with what Red said. He put it more eloquently.

So, molesting 5 girls is simply "being an idiot".
Awesome.

And no, a person that is a minor doesn't have to carry the weight of his mistakes throughout his life and close doors to professions that you don't approve of.
9 times out of 10 I'd agree with this.
But not this time.

Siblings and one other female:
"Josh Duggar, of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting," resigned his position at the Family Research Council Thursday after reports surfaced that he allegedly sexually assaulted four female siblings in the large family, plus an additional female victim."

This was 12 years ago when he was 15. Any statute of limitations on internet shaming for a problem that was addressed in the courts? Also, nothing in that article mentions any sexual assault on family members.
"The report redacted the name of the suspect and the alleged victims, all juveniles, but listed Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar as relatives."
The fact that he accepted the position of Exec. Director of FRC Action (an organization whose sole purpose is to judge and shame others) pretty much negates any statute of limitations on internet shaming.

The "family values" crusader apparently "valued" his underaged sisters when he was younger.
Poor guy was even forced to resign from his little hate group today.

DC blowjobs must be going up in price
It is rumored that David Vitter will run for LA Governor to replace Jindal.
I'm guessing this news is sending shockwaves throughout the DC Whoring Futures market.

Good guys with guns! Thank God they didn't have banjos.
An armed society is a polite society.
-
Has anybody checked for ties to the Muslim brotherhood?
Damn lamestream media is not reporting this.
-
Some gems in this thread.
Well done, gents.

Brian Wilson
Anyone with a "schtick" should be in the running (so pretty much every single closer).
But Wilson brought the closer douche factor to another level.

Yes for me.

Still pisses me off that these assholes were not indicted:

I think a lot of it depends on when you grew up. But reality is there was fantastic music in every decade (Maybe 2000-2010 excluded). In WWII time you had some amazing jazz and blues. In the 50's you had the start of rock and roll. Go find old Lightening Hopkin's records, Fats Waller, original Elvis or Buddy Holly. Just amazing stuff. Sixties and Seventies weren't my thing, but I can see where people who grew up in that era would think so. I "grew up" in the 80's, so obviously I'm drawn to that.
And I would agree with the statement that there is some amazing music out there right now. Not the stuff you heard played on the radio, or mass marketed...but there is some serious talent out there. Bands like Trombone Shorty, Shaky Graves, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Nick Waterhouse, etc. I regularly hear new stuff on channels like The Loft on Sirius that I jot down.
Nice call on Shakey Graves. Saw him a year ago as part of a Houston Music Festival. I hadn't really heard of him prior to that. It was just him with a guitar and a suitcase drum on stage. Awesome performance. I've been a fan ever since.

What I think surprised me the most is how long the damn plane kept sliding on the tarmac. It didn't wanna stop!
I have a buddy who's a pilot and he says this kind of stuff is bread and butter for pilots, and in fact, he's still looking forward to his first landing with one of the jets out just cause "he wants to try it without it being a simulation." Pilots are so good and these planes are so safe, even with a jet out he says it'd be a smooth landing and the passengers wouldn't even be aware of it.
Your buddy is a f*cking idiot.
With all due respect.

He can always go back to being a talk show host.

I'll ask again. How could anyone, with any shred of decency, defend this group?
