    Is it mental? Or is it he can't handle pressure at the major league level? He apparently demonstrates the necessary skill set in practice, just hasn't done it in games here. Maybe he just needs to relax.

    Marcia is a good journalist. I enjoy her articles. She has the ability to "humanize" the athletes she is writing about. It's not only about the wins and losses or making the most money. It's about life.

    Glad to see Trout getting AB even if he is not playing on defense. He hasn't looked particularly good at the plate yet.

    Relief pitchers that top out at 85 will be of little use in the bullpen. We have other players that offer more. It doen't appear the Angels are very high on Geltz with the early reassignment.

    Richards is still on the cusp of being a major league pitcher. He is lacking consistency. His stuff is good. He needs to throw strikes. He is far from being a bust.

    Since the Angels are not planning on playing many regulars tomorrow, I suspect that there are quite a few prospects that aren't as upset.

    As it stands now, Hanson is important to the overall success of the starting rotation. It is interesting we are not hearing any hype about how he is doing.

    He should get plenty of opportuniies this spring to showcase his abilities. If he has a good spring he should continue getting playing time as the backup. If he shows that his defense is still suspect he won't.

    I think this early part of spring training will be a good time to see some of these guys compete. You know they'll be trying to impress.
