    "Lose For Hughes!"

"Bad team man, we got a bad F'ing team!"

Another one i've heard is "Slack for Jack" Hughes.

Interesting enough Hughes will become another American taken 1st overall in the draft so soon after Auston Matthews went 1st overall.

Several Olympics from now we may see Matthews & Hughes winning the gold medal for Team USA vs Canada & McDavid + an old Crosby.

  2. I agree about the Samueli's. I wouldn't be surprised if they are best friends with the owners of the Oakland Athletics & Murray playing golf with Beane.

Samueli's don't care about winning a cup, to them its all about sustaining a team that makes the playoffs with as little of spending as possible & expanding the Ducks & NHL brand in California. When the time comes they'll eventually give Murray the door to promote Madden(Best scouting director in the NHL) to GM.
At some point they gotta promote Madden or he'll take a job elsewhere.

We’re lucky that the division is garbage.  I have to believe at some point SJ takes off.   For now the Ducks remain in the thick of it.  It’s good that Murray will get a bunch of excuses to not do shit and be a miserable failure of a GM again this season.  Pretty wild that Carlyle hasn’t been shit canned yet.

The coach that Carlyle defeated twice (McLellan in 09 playoffs & 2017 playoffs) got fired by the Oilers.

I don’t mean to act like he’s not smart about it.  It is smart to get max value out of players that other teams may over look.  It’s necessary even to be able to do that.

My issue is that he sets guys like that up to be relied on.  For a team that was in championship mode.  That sucks.  Anyway, Aberg is a high skill guy that’s been given up on.  Hopefully he’s found a good one in him.

The more i've thought about it i think the Owners have imposed things on Murray, like they never wanted the Ducks to go all in & never have just 1 or 2 seasons spending to the cap while the core was still in their prime. Instead i think the Owners want to boost the Ducks brand & focus on barely making the playoffs over a sustained period due to drafting very well, finding the abergs on the cheap which is what Murray is good at. He's terrible at assessing coaches & what system the team needs to play.

It could also be that Murray wants sustained competitive teams that never go all in cause all the Samueli's might be asking for is a playoff berth & he likes his job security of doing just that. Unless Artie Moreno buys the Ducks i don't see much changing. If Moreno did buy the Ducks i think he'd give Murray the green light to spend but also keep away from the Pujol's of the NHL.

Lol.  Bargain bin bob won’t ever get rid of a guy like Aberg.  This is one of the few times he’s dug up a guy that’s actually scoring.  We’ll see if it lasts.

Carlyle sucks and needs to go, but this is more then just him.  This is a problem with the players as well.

Bargin Bin Bob Laden is like a combination of Billy 'dumpster dive' Beane & Bill Stoneman.

If there is a dumpster in sports, Bob Murray & Billy Beane are in it sorting thru all the turds.

Stone, Panarin, Nylander.  One of those would help.  Panarin is probably out of our price range.  But Stone and Nylander.  Stone would look quite good on the Kesler line.  Nylander would mean one of our centers moves to wing, my guess would be Rico (Nylander/Rico/Kase).  Montour and Silfverberg may be too rich for our long term goals.  And Ritchie could be a good cheap 3 year option for some team.

The only internal good news is Eaves and Kase are both on this road trip.

You can never have too many centers as we saw what happened last year, i'd go for Nylander & move Rico to the wing since he can't seem to win a faceoff this year.

Nylander owns a career 49.5% FO win% with last year being at 51.4%.

They need to start having Mahura learn to play on the right side asap. Imagine some day having Mahura play on the right of Lindholm, 2 goal scoring D-men. No surprise Mahura is out performing Larsson in AHL.
