I remember analysts knocking on the Ducks for taking Lindholm at #6 instead of Dumba who ended up at #7 with Minnesota.
Minnesota also took Grandlund a few picks ahead of Fowler.

they said the same thing about Steve Finley
Sign 2 DHs. Sign Ibanez 1st & tell him that he'll play alot.
Then sign a better/younger DH & tell Ibanez he got moved down in the depth chart.
Ibanez wont cost much & having him sit on the bench lowers the Team ERA
from those games Ibanez would have clutch hits against the Angels.
-
Even if he sucks, at least he won't be hitting like .600 vs the Halos like he always does
It really feels as though he hits .600 vs the Halos every year.
Thats +1 or 2 wins from that alone of keeping him from hitting against the Angels.
-
He wont be able to do his usual .900+ OPS agaisnt the Angels pitching staff that he does every year.
A boost to team ERA lol by signing him.
-
Ibanez is going to turn into a pumpkin any second. He can't play the field at all so if pujols goes down, who plays first?
who metioned Delmon Young? where are you? YEAH! YOU! Don't make me pull this car over!!
They could sign 2 DHs.
1. Sign Ibanez & sit him on the bench.
2. Then sign another DH who gets to play alot.
Angel pitchers will be relieved they wont have to pitch to Ibanez who always crushes Angel pitching.
-
They even have had to give tickets away for free.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will always be the NHL team of Florida.
Since two teams moved east & only 1 team moved west perhaps its finally time for Seattle to have a team.

5 for this offseason. Dipoto traded low OBP from the lineup Bourjos/Trumbo & got value in return.
With better OBP & Pitching they should be a better team.
-
This is my lineup if it were me.
Calhoun
Aybar
Trout
Pujols
Hamilton
Kendrick
Freese
Cron (or trade, FA vacancy)
Iannetta/Conger
I love it.
Maybe it will wake up Pujols & Hamilton.

Mark Mulder will trip over his own shoelaces & have season ending surgery for a sore toe.

I believe Colon is looking for a 2yr deal around $10-$12 million per season
If the Angels signed Colon for 2 years he would suddenly get hurt in a game, then start throwing in the low 90s the next season & suck.'
Then after being booed out of the stadium again he would somehow rebound with the A's again on a 1 year deal.

Seriously can't get over how great of a move this is. I've been a Skaggs fan for a long time. It doesn't matter if he sits 89, he literally has a 70-75 curve and a plus change.
A lefthanded Jered Weaver would be cool.

Signing Ibanez means that the Angels pitchers do not have to face him.
Ibanez like he always does against the Angels hit .313/.389/.625/1.014 against them in 2013(career OPS .899 vs Angels).
Even if he puts up only a .750 to .800 OPS the Angel pitchers wont have to face him anymore.

lol the Islanders.
They take a 2 -1 lead then the ducks tie it & its still a winnable game for the Islanders.
Then comes that shorthanded goal to take the lead for the Ducks.
Then they trip up Perry & he still scores.
After that its game over for the Islanders.

So the Angels are sending Trumbo + 2 PTBNL?
I hope the PTBNL are career minor leaguers at best. Matt Scioscia maybe ?
-
Excited to see Skaggs back. He has #2 or even #1 potential.
At one time people believed Corbin was a #4 starter in the making.
The A's have done so well with a bunch of kids in their roster.
Perhaps the Angels should do the same by having guys like Skaggs & Green etc in there.

That Dan Haren trade keeps on giving.
Ervin Santana's Asking Price . . .

Given that players never live up to their big contracts 80% of the time & that Santana cant have 2 good seasons in a row he will probally flop after he signs anything over 5 years at 10+ mill per year.
