He's not going the other way anymore, which means his days of .330/.400/1.000 are done, I think you guys can pencil him in for .280-.300/30/100 for the next 3-5 years though.

You have a good lineup. You'll get some good years from 5. He'll right the ship. Hamilton as well.
You really only need a couple of starters behind Weaver to get you to the deadline. Sign a guy and make a trade this winter, and you're there. After that, make a deal with someone wanting to unload salary at the deadline. They are always out there. Deal from your strengths, and right now, your strength is cash. You guys have tons of it.
The Prince Fielder deal isn't going to be what Texas wants it to be. Dude is 330 lbs. and 31 years old. That's never a good combination.

Honestly, it won't be hard to surpass Jon Jays output at the plate.
The defensive improvement is what excites me, plus a little more speed on the bases.
Freese was a favorite of mine, but he is on borrowed time with those ankles. There are also rumors of other issues, but leu ours are just that, rumors.
If the back is better he should give you a boost in the 6-7-8 part of the lineup. His range has diminished, partly due to the back issues.
Again, the real problem is the rebuilt ankles.

Pujols, in his prime, was the best player I've ever watched on a daily basis. He would turn on an inside fastball and put it in the upper deck, and go the other way on a slider away. He hit to all fields with power and played his position expertly. He took my breath away at times, especially when he destroyed Lidge in 05.
Yes, he's a shell of his former self, and yes I was sad to see him leave St. Louis, but I'm over it now and I'm happy I got to watch him in his prime. I'm also kind of happy he came out here, because I can still watch him every day. However, it's hard to watch at times, not because he's an Angel, but because of what the injuries have done to him.
