  1. Albert really looks locked in. He's finally healthy and comfortable, reaching this milestone will light him up. He's not going the other way anymore, which means his days of .330/.400/1.000 are done, I think you guys can pencil him in for .280-.300/30/100 for the next 3-5 years though. Let's be honest, it's better than what you thought you might be in for after the last two years. He's locked and loaded right now, enjoy it. I know I will. You guys are poised for greatness, I like what I see, just get some pitching. Seriously.
  2. Apparently Bourjous is destined for our bench. Looking like Grichuck might be the steal in the deal.
  3. Albert, you took my breath away for 10 years. Congrats, and good luck guys, you really are looking better this year. Sorry Freese sucks though. See y'all at the Big A!
  4. I'm tuned in, and hoping for the big turn around this season. Good luck, and I hope the two former Cards studs you have perform as advertised. I love Opening Day! See you in October.
  5. Does a waiver deal after the deadline count towards the luxury tax? Also how close are you to the tax? I couldn't imagine having to account for that shit as a GM. Owner goes for the two biggest FA's two years in a row, but won't pay the luxury tax. He dumb.
  6. You guys are way too negaAngel around here. You have a good lineup. You'll get some good years from 5. He'll right the ship. Hamilton as well. You really only need a couple of starters behind Weaver to get you to the deadline. Sign a guy and make a trade this winter, and you're there. After that, make a deal with someone wanting to unload salary at the deadline. They are always out there. Deal from your strengths, and right now, your strength is cash. You guys have tons of it. The Prince Fielder deal isn't going to be what Texas wants it to be. Dude is 330 lbs. and 31 years old. That's never a good combination. Salas was a shit show last year, but he's been good in the past. This deal won't look that bad come July 31. Your lineup is stacked, and Trout is a stud in CF. You really haven't lost much of anything. You just need pitching.
  7. Well, hopefully this turns out well for both of our teams. Probably will be best to revisit this around July 1. Do you guys have a SS that's worth a shit? I wouldn't mind seeing Lance Lynn or Jaime Garcia go for an upgrade there. I hear that Shelby Miller is available as well. Not so hot about the idea of losing him though. See y'all at the Big A this summer!
  8. Well, you'd better get some pitching, because your snakebit lineup is due to explode. It will be a shame when it does and you have no pitching to back it up. Unfortunately, Arte will probably blow another $250 mil on Cano. Not serious. I think...
  9. Oh, I think he's better at 3rd than Reynolds. His back also had a negative effect on his play at third this season. He is solid, definitely not spectacular at third. He won't get to everything, but he won't have you yelling at the tv, and putting a screen up behind first to protect that hot chick showing off her hot dog eating face in the third row either.
  10. The ankle thing is what it is. He had reconstructive surgery a few years ago. He injured one in a car wreck, and another in AAA, I believe. The back issues surfaced for the first time last year. He didn't miss a lot of time because of it, but it really changed his approach. Got handsy at the plate and quit going the other way. I would assume that your FO did their homework regarding the back stuff, and felt comfortable enough about it to pull the trigger.
  11. Freese could be a .300/30/100 guy in your lineup. IF, and it's a big if, he can stay healthy. He is at his best when he is hitting the ball from center to right field. Great oppo power. Decent fielder. His bat speed was diminished this season, due to the back thing. By the WS his swing was all arms. His ankles affect his mobility, which in turn reduces his range. He is capable of carrying a team for a week or so, and if healthy will be a complement to your lineup. I think your line up got better, but your d didn't. Dipoto should have demanded a starting pitcher, that's your real need, IMO. Salas is a total pos dumpster fire. Glad to see him go. I figured we'd just non-tender the guy, so getting a prospect for him is gravy. Like the Pujols situation, I'm glad I'll be able to follow Freese out here. He is one of my favorites.
  12. That is one goofy looking swing. Looks like a dead pull hitter, likes the inner half. I like the d though. No way Anyone in the Cards outfield goes and gets those gappers like that.
  13. Honestly, it won't be hard to surpass Jon Jays output at the plate. The defensive improvement is what excites me, plus a little more speed on the bases. Freese was a favorite of mine, but he is on borrowed time with those ankles. There are also rumors of other issues, but leu ours are just that, rumors. If the back is better he should give you a boost in the 6-7-8 part of the lineup. His range has diminished, partly due to the back issues. Again, the real problem is the rebuilt ankles.
  14. I've seen him play a few times, but with the injury this past season I don't think I recall seeing him play at all last year. Granted I probably watched all of 20 or so Angels games last year. What can we expect out of him? Is he a starter, or a fourth outfielder? Seems to be many differing opinions of him around here.
  15. If this is true, y'all just got swindled. Freese's best days are behind him because of bad ankles and back problems, and Salas was gasoline every time he came in to pitch in a leverage situation last year. I expected to have to give you a starter (Lynn) to get this deal done.
