  1. Brandon, did you end up going? There were quite a few people in Angel gear. I went and had a great time. It was really crowded but the beer selection was great. My cousin owns Churchill's. So I go down there whenever I get the chance.
  2. I've had 2 HTC phones and I really like them. The only issue I have is that the UI makes it really hard to get the newest official versions of Android. I am thinking of getting the Google phone (whatever the newest one is) when my next contract is up.
  3. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9000545/chris-kluwe-brendon-ayanbadejo-file-amicus-brief-california-favoring-same-sex-marriage Chris Kluwe and Brendon Ayanbadejo file an amicus brief in advance of the Supreme Court ruling on Prop 8. Maybe this isn't the appropriate forum for this but I wanted to post it here. I'm very proud that I am a fan of a university that could help mold two great individuals. It probably isn't easy for these two men to defend other people's right to a lifestyle that isn't theirs and take a stand for equality. I am thrilled two Bruins are such vocal leaders in standing up for something that they (and I) believe is right.
  4. I don't know enough about the SF cap situation but here's a crazy trade I thought up. SF's 1st and 2nd round (not the Chief's pick) to Arizona for Larry Fitzgerald. SF needs a WR and this draft isn't good for WR's. Arizona isn't going anywhere with Fitzgerald eating their cap and need to rebuild. They might be able to get Barkley at #31 and clear a lot of cap space.
  5. No. Part of the reason I've stopped watching the NFL so much is the banning of hits on defenseless receivers going up the middle. If you don't want your receiver getting hit don't send him over the middle with a high throw. Same thing for catchers. You don't want your catcher getting run over don't have him block the plate. Throughout little league I was a catcher but I had to quit when I got to high school. I entered high school at about 5 feet 90 lbs. I wasn't going to let someone have home if I played catcher and I was going to get killed. I wouldn't want someone not doing anything they can to score a run if they have a shot. Could you imagine the winning run in a World Series being disallowed because a guy runs over the catcher or "takeout slides" him? I would be outraged.
  6. I'm a big fan of Callaspo and not very high on Jimenez at all, but it's been one game. The guy will get his legs under him and be better than that.
  7. There is nothing wrong with what Grienke said. If the guy wants the most money he's earned the right to do that. That being said I don't think players who choose teams based on other factors are idiots. There's only so much money a man needs in a lifetime and can even really spend in a lifetime. Anything more than that is just gravy. If a guy wants to be on a contending team I don't have a problem with him signing for less or if he wants to be close to home, play for his favorite team growing up or a manager he likes. I personally I don't see much difference between 50 million and 200 million, it's not changing my lifestyle or my kids' lifestyles or their kids' lifestyles for that matter.
  8. Ducks haven't really played well since beating Detroit. Hopefully they turn it around tonight.
