  1. I don't know enough about the SF cap situation but here's a crazy trade I thought up. SF's 1st and 2nd round (not the Chief's pick) to Arizona for Larry Fitzgerald. SF needs a WR and this draft isn't good for WR's. Arizona isn't going anywhere with Fitzgerald eating their cap and need to rebuild. They might be able to get Barkley at #31 and clear a lot of cap space.
  2. No. Part of the reason I've stopped watching the NFL so much is the banning of hits on defenseless receivers going up the middle. If you don't want your receiver getting hit don't send him over the middle with a high throw. Same thing for catchers. You don't want your catcher getting run over don't have him block the plate. Throughout little league I was a catcher but I had to quit when I got to high school. I entered high school at about 5 feet 90 lbs. I wasn't going to let someone have home if I played catcher and I was going to get killed. I wouldn't want someone not doing anything they can to score a run if they have a shot. Could you imagine the winning run in a World Series being disallowed because a guy runs over the catcher or "takeout slides" him? I would be outraged.
  3. I'm a big fan of Callaspo and not very high on Jimenez at all, but it's been one game. The guy will get his legs under him and be better than that.
  4. There is nothing wrong with what Grienke said. If the guy wants the most money he's earned the right to do that. That being said I don't think players who choose teams based on other factors are idiots. There's only so much money a man needs in a lifetime and can even really spend in a lifetime. Anything more than that is just gravy. If a guy wants to be on a contending team I don't have a problem with him signing for less or if he wants to be close to home, play for his favorite team growing up or a manager he likes. I personally I don't see much difference between 50 million and 200 million, it's not changing my lifestyle or my kids' lifestyles or their kids' lifestyles for that matter.
  5. Ducks haven't really played well since beating Detroit. Hopefully they turn it around tonight.
