I've often found that managers tend to be as good as the team they are given. The "best" coaches and managers in sports tend to have the best teams. What I find to be amazing is when coaches win things like coach of the year awards and then are fired two years later because they suddenly become a crappy coach. At the end of the day, your initial thought that managers in baseball have the least effect of any in sports. They are highly paid scapegoats.

I don't see how. Petit sucked 100 years ago with the angels. He spends his off season in a nursing home. 3 hits per out is about right.

It’s actually mathematically impossible to be 6 games under .500 after 7 games without a tie.

I’ve always been surprised that these guys don’t stretch during the games. I’m sure it doesn’t look manly enough. They stretch an hour before the game starts, that doesnt help. But they often stand around or sit on the bench then have to go full speed just like that. When in the on deck circle stretch the legs a bit.

They have to put the pitcher in the lineup to hit. They pulled the guy furthest from hitting so avoid having to use a pinch hitter. Watson is currently the #7 guy.

Again, he realized he doesn’t need it cause these hitters are crap. He can throw 8 innings cause he’s lobbing it nice and easy up there.

Idiots. How is that his screw up. He blocked a ball that landed a foot in front of home plate and kept it in front of him. That is all catchers are supposed to do there.

Anyone else worry when he checks his swing awkwardly like that. That’s where those oblique injuries come in.

PErhaps he realized these mlb hitters suck and he only needs to throw 90% to get them all out. They got nothing on those Japanese league guys. doing pretty good with less velocity. Maybe favoring control over velocity.
