  1. I feel like the Governor was having a brutal internal battle with himself on which course of action to take. Killing Martinez and exclaiming "I don't want it!" in reference to sharing power showed that he was trying to leave that part of himself behind. He even went as far as sneaking away in the middle of the night, and I think that if that pit of walkers wasn't blocking their path that they would have left. Seeing that pit he realized two things, the first was that he needed a camp and a safe place to live, and the second was that he needed to be the one running the show since he didn't trust anybody else to do so. The next day sees him fully embracing this role and taking out the only remaining obstacle to him taking the throne.

He is nuts. I really enjoyed the last two episodes.

  2. I found myself somewhat liking the first book, second book seemed kinda weak, and then the third book is what pushed me into disliking the entire trilogy. Two of the characters in the third book are named after Nicolas Cage's character in Face Off and his brother. Woody Harrelson looks ridiculous. My favorite acting came from Lenny Kravitz.

  3. I saw "All is Lost" starring Robert Redford today. Fantastic movie. He is the only actor in the whole film— it's about his struggle to survive lost at sea. It sounds like it would be boring, but I was riveted the whole time.

Check out "Buried" with Ryan Reynolds. He is the only actor the entire movie and the entire film is viewed from inside of a coffin that he's been buried in. I was skeptical at first, but it turned out to be pretty damn stressful and I enjoyed it.

  4. When my kid learns to poop on their own I am throwing them a pizza and brownie party, but the brownies will have ex-lax. I really want them to get a lot of practice at their newly acquired skill to really drive it home. Muscle memory.

And I will post details on facebook.

  5. Is that for a 2 liter or 1? If it's 2 that's an insane deal considering a half liter bottle was $18. Even 1 liter is a good deal.

I might do a 1 Liter of Charred then try the Rye Whiskey Barrel Bastard and if I like that get a 1 of that as well.

Pretty sure it's for the 2 liter because that's what I was filling at the time when I asked. That keg is gonna go quick. I might have to take a late lunch and head out there so I can get some.

  6. Talked to the guy at Stone Oceanside last night when I got a fill of Enjoy By and he said that the Southern Charred on Monday will be $23 for a growler fill. Not too bad. I might just fill the litre growler though and try a couple more of the Bastards that they're gonna have. If it's still there that is.

  7. Gonna be heading to O'Brien's tonight. They are hosting Rip Current and will have their beers on tap, plus the remainder of the beers from the previous night's Kern River dinner. Rip Current makes some solid stuff and I haven't tried any Kern River, so I'm looking forward to it.

  8. No, it would totally help.  It always does.

Want less drug use?  Outlaw drugs.

Want less gun violence?  Put in more gun laws.

It's a very common sense approach.

Ideally that would be the way to go but the huge majority of gun crimes aren't committed by people who obtain their guns legally, they're committed by people who get them from the drug dealer on the corner or by any other illegal means. Stricter gun laws won't affect them, they will only affect the law abiding citizens trying to get a gun.

  9. There are bad people in the world, but I also feel that there are a lot more good people. I definitely think that if more people were armed that the biggest shootings in recent years would have been avoided, or at the very least the body counts wouldn't be as high. The people that go out and commit these heinous acts do so with a good amount of confidence knowing that hardly anybody carries and they have at least as long as it takes first the first responders to arrive to accomplish what they want. Outside of that, I feel that crimes like armed robberies and the like would drop. I doubt that the people committing these crimes would be as quick to rush into a gas station if they were worried that the attendant and any number of patrons were packing. It's an effective deterrent.

  10. Tomorrow is guild fest... Wednesday Nick is going to Yeti night at Churchills

Yeti night !!! I also want to head down to O'Brien's at some point for one of their events.

  11. After hearing about the shooting this morning, I began a pretty good debate at work with the following question:

If every person in the United States over the age of 18 was issued a gun, would the gun related crime rate go up or down ?

It's obviously an extreme example, but I think that if this were to happen that the gun related crime rate would go down.
