  1. Alright guys, I hope I can offer some cool stats to discuss on this site as I love to share random stats on Twitter often. I'll list the stat and the (MLB Ranking) in parenthesis: Batting: BA .243 (16), Hits 44 (12), Runs 21 (15), HRs 8 (7), RBI 21 (14) Pitching: ERA 3.11 (8), Runs 18 (19), WHIP 1.10 (8), BB 14 (16), SO 42 (11) Top Hitter: Chris Iannetta - BA .375, 6 hits, 4 runs and 2 home runs. I'll try to post things like this once a week if anyone digs it.
  2. I think this is totally a mental thing. Nerves got him in his opening series with a new team, back in Cincy where the trouble started. Now he's being booed in a place he called him, has to be getting to him. Keep in mind, he's a great person but probably not the mentally toughest person on the planet given his history. Comfort level is a big thing for him and hopefully a few games at home will fix some things.
  3. I bought a game used Chris Iannetta bat today! I'm out of town and will post some pics of my collection when I get back to Vegas.
  4. Nope. Even though the Angels weren't involved, I wasn't rooting for a division rival to get one last night, either.
  5. I could care less what he drives, as long as he drives with a World Series ring on his finger.
  6. What self respecting man would jump out of the way like that? I would KILL to own a homerun ball, I would have caught it for sure.
  7. Big shout out to the bullpen. Who would have guessed we'd give up one run in 13 innings after all of our (my) bitching and moaning about the pitching staff during spring? Great way to start the year.
  8. Given the way spring went, I'm pleasantly surprised that we've only given up two hits thus far today. I know... I just jinxed it.
  9. Speaking of Trumbo, I kind of miss Morales. I know, it's just two at bats.
  10. A six pitch inning is exactly what Weaver needed there. That was huge.
  11. Watching from work! Should make the second half of my day fly.
  12. Guessing in the 80-90 pitch range. Here's to hoping he gets in a grove early.
  13. Finally, it's here! Interested to see how Trumbo does. I somewhat agree I would have liked to see Bourjos but we'll need some pop and Trumbo has (used to have?) that.
  14. Much like the rest of the pitching staff, it's been a roller coaster but they've all recently given us reason to calm down...besides Vargas. We'll know more one week from right now.
  15. Ok, stats make me sad. Angels rank last in MLB in ERA (6.19), last in hits given up (354), last in runs given up (216), tied for 4th in HRs given up (39), last in opponent avg. (.318) and last in WHIP (1.67). Beer me.
  16. Fun to speculate but this should play itself out in the next couple of weeks. Honestly, no pitching staffs have looked great during Spring Training. I just wish we looked a little more fine-tuned across the board.
  17. I see Vargas having the best year. Will be interesting either way.
  18. Was on SVP and Rusillo talking about teams that may be better than advertised and the other side. Said scouts at Angels games are concerned with starting pitching. Obviously not breaking news but it hasn't been pretty this spring. Weaver looked great last night but should we be worried? I don't feel worried, yet.
  19. Love him. In sold on him being the centerpiece of this team for next 10-14 years.
  20. He was 0-3 in his Yankees debut yesterday, he did have an RBI though. As far as his comments, I expect it. He reads the news, I'm sure the New York media will be giving him hell. He'll hit HRs in Yankee Stadium but we all know what he is.
