    I wonder if Trout has ever been the leader on any of his teams. To me he seems a great follower - not one to rally the troops per se but one who is loyal to the guy who is. It doesn't take being a leader to be great. Some people have it, most don't.

    It's amazing that we were 4 games out just 5 days ago. Hopefully we can keep extending the win streak and have some momentum heading into Oakland next weekend. And hopefully be able to put a little distance between them and us as we head into September.

    The A's have 16 remaining against the Angels and Mariners. Plus the two remaining on the current road trip against the Braves. The Angels have 17 remaining against the A's and Mariners. Otherwise, the schedules are pretty much even in terms of games against teams with losing records. Should be a fun home stretch.

    Dude, Jepsen has been nails in the 7th this season; it has been by far his best season as a major leaguer. He had a bad night but his track record thus far in 2014 says that bringing him in in the seventh last night was not only a smart move but the right move.
