The Teixeira trade. I thought we were winning it all that year. Ugh
Injuries hurt us that year IIRC. Can't believe Gary Matthews Jr didn't carry us to a title /s

I have considered it but I think it would be unfair of me to play. You all should have a chance to experience the joy of hoisting that trophy, like I did.Oh, and also my wife said no.

Hamilton is on the verge of becoming the most hated Angels player in memory - vying with Vernon Wells
Eh.
-
Do they outsource this stuff to Mexico?
It's of course all outsourced. The team will give the details to a sales rep at an apparel company, that sales rep gives the details to a project coordinator, who sends out production details to other outsourced companies. If something like NL/AL gets mistyped by one of the first two parties nobody further down the line is going to catch it (or question it).

2 times Hamilton was the go ahead run and got caught on the basepaths...

Hamilton... sigh

What the actual **** is Hamilton doing out there on the bases?

I'm very against this trade, but this is an actual case of what people said the Wells deal was at the time. It makes us better but wasn't a smart deal. Still, that's a pretty epic bullpen to have at our disposal.
If one person said at the time that the Wells trade made us better it was one too many.

I remember for a number of years during our playoff runs that if our starters could give us 6 decent innings, it was basically lights out for the 7,8 and 9th(Shields, Rodriguez). I'm hoping with the recent trades that at least for the next couple of year the team will be back to this kind of play.
That didn't help us in 2004 or 2008 (although I doubt Scioscia is ever going to pull Street to put in CJ Wilson with the game on the line like he did with Washburn).

I didn't see, how many times did he bat flip?

Don't remember defending Obama in the thread. Please show me where I did. Seriously. Don't ignore this part. You made a claim. Please provide proof to show you aren't once again making shit up.
Yes, I support Obamacare over the previous system. I have no doubt a more competent and committed administration could have rolled it out smoother. That was what I had hoped would happen. I have never claimed to read the whole thing. That's the third or fourth time you've said that now. I don't know where you got that from. I have read a bunch, though. Although it is very interconnected with other laws and policies as well as industry operational procedure so it's definitely not easy to understand. Not for someone who isn't learned in health care industry operation and reform.
The point is you can't "read the whole thing", you can't read Obamacare at all. To start with, Obamacare isn't a bill, it's two bills because of the ass backwards way they shoved it through congress without actually getting 60 votes for it. After that, you're going to have to find every memo and regulation added behind closed doors at HHS along with every memo issued to the insurance providers for guidance on how they actually plan to enforce the law contrary to what the law says.

Ouch!
Meanwhile we're 20-5 in our last 25 games LOL
This series sweep in Texas really makes up for all the ass smackin' Texas has been handing to us the past half decade, that's for sure.
I'm sure they'll be fine, they have their WS trophies to keep their spirits high.
OH WAIT NO THEY DONT GET THE F OFF YOUR FIELD

^ I understand your point, but...all of those were valid arguments (aside from napoli being a horrible trade regardless of depth).
Kotchman was done fairly shortly after we traded him, and if not for trumbo, morales would have still been here.
And where would segura play if he was still here?
Finding a place to play Segura sounds like an amazing problem to have.
-
Kotchman is expendable, if we can't sign Tex in the offseason Morales will be a fixture at first base for years to come!
Segura is expendable, we just signed Aybar and Kendrick to new deals!
Napoli is expendable, we have Conger coming up and can get a MOTO bat in Wells!
I ****ing hate it when people are "expendable".

It's probably a good thing that he has a broken thumb, it means some of the energy was absorbed before the ball hit his face. It could have been worse.

I'll admit I was wrong on Bourjos.
However, I believed last winter Grichuk was simply a 4th OF. I've seen nothing to indicate he is anything more.
The over exuberance of many for some of our prospects, from Trevor Reckling to Grichuk, is always entertaining.
I still have my authentic McPherson jersey in my closet /facepalm

Wanna send this dude a card or something. Damn.
This. Wish we had a way of reaching out and offering condolences. My daughter is 18 months, I can't imagine going through that.

You and YoT have the exact same avatar and it is confusing to me.
How bout now.

throwing a tantrum
AFAIK he's doing what he does all the time, which is spaz out and pretend a ball got away from him to draw the runner off the bag. It's worked a half dozen times over the years.
Watch him when a runner tries to steal 2nd and the throw is late and off target.

It's not like the latino vote is going anywhere. They will vote for the party who promises free stuff. They'll never vote Republican.
This is just not true. Latino voters tend to have conservative values, and far more Latinos identify as "conservative" rather than "liberal".

Haven't been a regular poster here in a long time, but wanted to confirm this. In 2004 I was spreading Kerry literature everywhere I could. I was anti-war, anti-interventionism, hated the intelligence community, hated globalization, hated free trade. All of these things in 2004 made me a Democrat- today it makes me 100% unapologetic-ally pro-Trump.
