Prominent figure?  I’m one of 100-200 people that have 30 years with the company.  There are 50 of me in the company as it relates to my title and another 20 or so people above me.  Also it is a company made up of individuals.  They don’t discriminate based on our political or social beliefs.  I am not a strong supporter of the left.  I am an advocate for gay rights, because I am not a piece of shit, not saying you are a piece of shit.  So when you choose to spout some lie about how homosexual men die 15-20 years earlier than heterosexual men, I’ll let you know you are being ridiculous.

And I did acknowledge that.  It doesn’t mean you should give them one inch on this.  Unemployment benefits are good and wholly necessary.  The problem isn’t that there are programs to help people.  The problem is dog shit policy that allows for large populations non functional people.  The people who take “advantage” are a whole other complicated issue.  They themselves are a product of an absolutely failed society.  You said it yourself.  Most people on these programs desperately need them and aren’t exploiting them.  The welfare queen narrative is evil garbage that should always always always be opposed.

I was on unemployment once in my life.  I had been laid off.  It sure as shit wasn’t 18 months.  It was 6 months.  And EDD called and bugged me twice a month about what interviews I had done.  I had to fill out the fucking form about where I had applied constantly.  They made me go to this stupid fucking class about looking for work.  I couldn’t find work for 10 months.  I got completely raped on the little bit of money I had saved up in my 401K.  Because I had to live and what are you supposed to do when the unemployment stops ? 
 
we have bullshit means tested programs that people do exploit.  There is fraud.  But the problem isn’t the spirit of the program.  The problem is that we have garbage welfare policy. Those 10 months are the only time in my life that I haven’t been working a full time job.  So fuck you if you think I wasn’t entitled to that unemployment.
