  1. Wendy Thurm wrote a good article about this in January: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/mlb-blackout-policy-under-attack-in-the-courts/ I love my MLB.tv since I live in Chicago. But, will hate it once I move back to LA this summer. Actually, MLB.tv stills sucks in Chicago, because I can't get any of the "nationally televised" games and they don't show Angel games on TV in my market. I wish I could just get every and all Angel games on MLB.tv- I don't mind paying for the service AND watching commercials.
  2. For a guy who's worst nightmare must be pitching in Arlington, Williams came in and dominated for two strong innings. It seems like we will have a great bullpen this season, one through seven.
  3. I'm surprised with how well the Twins have been playing. Flying from LAA to MIN without a day off, I could see them going 5-1, if they can start hitting with RISP and everything else stays the same.
  4. Yep. Imagine if Callaspo goes down. It wouldn't kill us to have Hall in his place. Shoot, our drop off from any other position player going down would be seriously mitigated by the ability to use Hall over Harris.
  5. Too bad he didn't hit that double in his first PA. I'm not sold he found his swing either Mancini. He made contact today, but they were pitches in the zone and some looked like bloops. Still its promising. If the MotO starts heating up or we start hitting with RISP, we'll have a deadly team.
  6. I know. Its super-frustrating and 5-45 is no exaggeration. If not for the HRs, we'd probably be 0-5. I can't wait to see this offense once the hits with RISP start coming; The Angels will be a juggernaut.
  7. Welcome everyone! And let me encourage all those lurkers to post; we can use as many opinions as we can get.
  8. Haha! That's how I started posting on this site! Anyway, welcome, I always like to get the perspective of fans from other teams on this site.
  9. I got nothin' Does anyone know where I could get a retired player's jersey? Or even one of those t-shirts that looks like a jersey?
  10. 1986! My mom was a Dodgers fan (from Brooklyn) and my Dad was a Yankee fan (from the Bronx), living in SoCal. So, naturally, I became an Angels fan. Pretty good year for us up until the end. Still hate BOS, but 2009 and the last few years have been cathartic. I was living in NY in 2002 and working at a bar. It was one of the first years of the YES Network and the bar was packed with Yankee fans for the playoffs. It was wonderful.
  11. From ESPN: "MILWAUKEE -- Shortstop Jean Segura has left the Milwaukee Brewers' game against the Arizona Diamondbacks with a bruised left quad. Segura was injured when Gerardo Parra made a hard slide into his leg to break up a potential double play in the third inning. Segura was down for a bit, but stayed in Sunday's game after a brief jog in the outfield." wtf does this sentence mean?
  12. Me too. That was a terrible idea. Fujikawa (sp?) gave up 3 in the 8th too. Good ol' Cubbies.
  13. Lowe was a great pickup at the last minute. Amazing.
  14. Gotta agree with everyone on Blanton. He did fine. Its tough for a guy like that pitching in a bandbox. The 2-run HR hurt, but the others were harmless solo shots. So far, so good; all around.
  15. That's good. Can never have too much depth. We have some great players at the major league level, but its also a pretty big drop off if one of them goes down. He should really be useful, if productive.
  16. He's like a poor-man's Mark Reynolds. Maybe he is starting to put it together. Good for him and BAL.
  17. In the spirit of Spirit, here is the Official Countdown to 100 Wins Thread: Here we go! 100) 04/01/13: LAA 3 @ CIN 1 - An Epic Opening Day Battle 99) 04/06/13: LAA 8 @ TEX 4 - The Offense Finally Shows Up For Hanson's First Start 98) 97) 96) 95) 94) 93) 92) 91) 90) 80's to follow...
  18. I'd like to see what Tim Salmon could do as a hitting coach.
  19. I agree with the signing over the hill FA's (not like there were many other MotO options, though). But, he did lock up our major league talent to give the farm system time to develop a new wave of young players. Plus, I like what he's done to the BP. Its tough and takes time to take a team in a new direction, while remaining competitive.
  20. And we faced their best starting pitchers.
