Haha pick two free agents that are performing well so far. Btw no guarantee they would have performed the same here. And half the board wanted Upton, who has been total shit. This team is a looooong way from being good. It's a perfect storm of bad free agent signings, too many trades that mortgaged the future, bad drafting, poor development, and plain old bad luck. Settle in, it's going to be a long few years.

Hahaha you kind of have to just sit back and laugh at how bad this team is right now. We could be witnessing the first ever 100 loss Angels team.

FWIW, Jeff Fletcher said in this week's OC Register podcast that it would be silly of the Angels to not at least entertain the thought.

But I don't think Fletcher knows what he's talking about, it's not like he gets paid to write about baseball.

I'd be looking for 3-4 premium prospects plus at least 1 young major league proven talent. Even if the prospects don't all pan out, I think you could match that WAR total or do better.

plus then you're covering multiple holes on your team, or cresting multiple other trade scenarios, etc.

If this were any of the major sports except baseball I'd agree it's silly to trade Trout. But it's baseball - one guy in your lineup just doesn't make that big of a difference. I think a lot of the fans on here underestimate just how bad of a spot this franchise is in. Trading Trout is no guaranteed ticket back to contention in a few years but it's a gamble the Angels should make IMO.

I disagree. We are a legit LFer and 2bman as well as a good pen arm from being a much better team. All of which were readily available last off season.

This is the type of thinking from the past 6 years that has gotten this franchise in such a mess. We're a long ways from being good.

I happened to be at Camden Yards when he hit his first ML home run. I was on the opposite side of the stadium, but could hear and see the 30 + friends and family going nuts in the stands. Pretty cool moment.
