Just stopped by this morning to learn the resolution of the Great Debate: IS Ohtani always in the hole as Failos insists, or if, he is indeed, NOT always in the hole? AND is there a hole deep enough to make Ohtani look Altuve-sized? And what the hell does any of this have to do with honor and shame?
Spent all night pouring over fangraphs. I got nothin'.

It appears we will never know.

Well then!

Certainly not the defensive player I was led to believe he was.

Or Upton?

Ya that’s embarrassing. Ridiculous that he’s so slow that an errant throw doesn’t result in a man on base.
Or, even a close play, really.

If this keeps up, we may have our first GDT over ten pages in a while. Not since the 9-6 loss to the Red Sox.
But that was aided by a lot of piling on, after the game was over.
First time I've felt like talking Angels Baseball in about 3 weekis. Good ta see ya all!

That's tough - he was having a nice comeback year before landing on the DL.

Herrera with a blown save tonight. Maybe trying to lower his value to help with a trade?

There isn't a damn things Bedrosian can do to earn my confidence.
I am beginning to regain confidence in Parker
I have confidence in Ramirez
Anderson is a
Rookie. I expect him to have his bumps in the road.
I'll go on record and say I think there's a place for Bedrosian in our bullpen. But it is NOT in the 9th, or even the 8th inning. Call it what you will; grit, makeup, WHATEVER - he can (and does) pitch really well when the game is not on the line. Slot him in the 6th, MAYBE the 7th, and in a mop-up when we're being blown out. This is where he excels. 3 years of trying to make him the 'closer of the future' has failed.

Goldschmidt seems to be FINALLY shaking it off - last 4 games, 12 fer 17 with 4 HR's. All on the road, though, not coincidentally

How long until the bullpen begins to build some trust again? Not trying to be an apologist, nor being sarcastic. It's early June, but here's the bullpen numbers for the month:
Parker – 6IP, 1ER, 2H, 2BB, 7K
Bedrosian – 3IP, 0ER, 3H, 0BB, 2K
Johnson – 3IP, 0ER, 3H, 1BB, 4K
Alvarez – 4.2IP, 1ER 3H, 1BB, 4K
Ramirez – 3.1IP, 2ER, 2H, 0BB, 4K
Anderson – 3.2IP, 2ER, 3H, 6BB, 5K
That works out to a 2.28 ERA, 9.9 K/9IP, 1.10 WHIP over 23-2/3 innings. Not 'lights out, shut'em down' numbers, but certainly MORE than respectable.
And yet, because of the horrendous outings and blown leads we've seen this year, we all collectively clench when the bullpen comes in to protect a 1- or 2-run lead. How long do you think before we start to feel, if not confidence, at least not a sense of impending doom?
