Nice to hear the Ranger fan's perspective. I don't have a problem with throwing low, but you gotta get your throw to first base at least. Just like you have to make an attempt to touch the bag when sliding hard. Odor's throw went no where near first base. That was totally out of bounds.
Also, I consider making Matt Bush, a guy who wasn't even on the team last year hit Bautista was low class too.
It's interesting how it was Matt Bush who started all of it by plunking Bautista in the first place.
That guy really has a knack for creating madness. It was like his 3rd big league game at 30 years old, and just like that, the greatest MLB punch seen in a long time happens.
Yeah, I just pretty much look at the box scores theses days, and that's it.
I really envy those Cubs/Mets/White Sox fans right now. They must be having a blast.
Koji Uehara was the best closer in baseball once, and he threw 88mph fastballs. And he had only one other pitch.
How you hide the ball, and spin rates determine how fast pitches look to hitters. How fast the ball actually moves doesn't mean anything.
Defensive alignment is what drives me crazy.
10 balls put in play, 5 hits for Cubs.
8 balls put in play, 1 hit for Angels.
And the Angels are hitting the ball hard as the opposing team.
So here are the numbers.
In 10 seasons, he averaged 14-8, 185IP, 1.16WHIP, 3.40ERA, .675OPS.
His career earnings would be 97mil over 11 years, less than 9 mil average.
He could never pitch again for the team and I'd still be very pleased.
