I don't know how precidented it is for a tv contract to include paying a superstar a large part of his salary, but if it is true it's a pleasant surprise.

Remember I said I "believe". I don't think they would have paid AP directly, but that Arte was able to up his price based on bringing in such a superstar.

I don't think you know anything about my nuts, but yes I do think they are secretly rooting for his failure.

Credit where credit is due...I haven't been a huge fan of Bourjos, I didn't think his defensive worth made up for his offensive shortcomings...but he has certainly got off to a better start than I imagined.

 

I still think long term Trout is the answer in CF, so if Pete can continue to show he can hit at this level he is a valuable trade piece on a club severely lacking in that area.

Hopefully the long term answer is keeping both these guys right where they are and having the best outfield in baseball.

It's true that Trout isn't setting the world on fire either.

I guess it's harder to get mad at a young player not making much money, as opposed to two superstars making on average over $50 million/season between them and having a combined OPS of well under .700.

It's also easier to think they will both get back to their norms. We don't know what normal is for Trout.

I love going to the IE 66ers games. Those kids got heart and play like they want better things.

I was in there and commented that I couldn't see letting my kid peruse a site with that kind of language, whether you think asswipe, which is a profanity and WAS a personal attack, is a profanity or not. It's not something my son needs to read on a baseball fan site. I'm just asking a very common sense question.

I don't know how old your son is, but if he's much past 3rd grade he has heard worse or he is home schooled.

No doubt. I have a feeling he was on the phone with the tv people and Pujols at the same time.

Even if he walks away they still owe him the money. I'm optimistic he will provide and ROI over the next 7-9 years.
