  1. And in those posts you have made, you have expressed quite clearly your jaded view of police and your distrust of them in general.
  2. Where he came off bag doesn't really matter though. He got up from the slide, and then proceeded to head for home. He doesn't have to be inline with the baseline for it to be obstruction.
  3. Zap Oh, and Jackie Johnson makes weather worth watching http://www.jackieweather.com
  4. You forgot the quotations around girlfriend
  5. You should stop sneaky. You're embarrassing yourself.
  6. I don't think there's any question that Mike was on board with trading Napoli and it was probably at his request when they had their year end trade season planning meetings. I don't think this indicates he facilitated the Wells trade however. It does confirm what most assumed about Mike and Mike 's relationship and Scioscia's opinion of Naps though.
  7. Uh Chad. Your questions about the intention of mentioning the other incident were answered, read back at my responses. Nothing I said resembled anything close to hissing and foaming nor was it irrational. But you sir derailed the discussion assuming erroneously the point or intent of Erics post about the other KWG incident. You sir went off on a hissing and foaming at the mouth irrational tangent. You would have realized your error had you stayed in the context of the discussion rather than erecting a strawman and asking us to knock it down. And now you're all pissy for being called out for it.
  8. Good contribution tf. Let me know when I use either of those terms inappropriately. Do you have anything to add to the topic?
  9. Actually, that's not what it really boils down to. Nice over simplified spin though arch.
  10. Wow, that's a load of incoherent babbling SA. You are completely raising a strawman with Eric's post and then demanding an explanation of said strawman. Eric's point of bringing up the other recent cases of teenage violence was to rebut the argument that the police action was uncalled for because he was only 13. There was no implication that children in general are turning evil or any other larger issue. The melodrama is on you and your strawman. Same ol' chad.
  11. no, you're inserting context that doesn't exist. You're drawing conclusions about the intent of his posts that isn't implied. No one is pretending that children in general are turning evil. That's nothing but a strawman. As for the last bit of your post, I have no idea what you are getting at. Why should the media or Eric for that matter try to give you a "decent" explanation to why they think these kind of crimes are happening? What concerns should they be trying to rationalize?
  12. If that is true, they are stupid and putting themselves at risk. Ya, I had all of that too, played war in the neighborhood all the time but the world was a different place then. Of course I wasn't playing war or walking around with replica guns or shooting pellet guns in public as a teenager though.
  13. So not walking around in public. And the police have seen teenagers etc walking around or about to or in the process of committing a crime with AK47 or other weapons. Not commonplace but again, the police have to assume the weapon and threat are real.
  14. Common sense? How often have you seen a teenager walking around in public with a replica assault rifle air soft gun? It's not like it's common place. My teenager has one and despite its safety orange barrel tip (indicating it's non-lethal) he still knows he should not be carrying it around in public as it could easily be mistaken for a real gun. It doesn't appear this gun had the safety orange barrel tip but even if it did, criminals have now taken disguising their real guns with orange tips to fool police so the police cannot take anything for granted anymore. They have to assume it's real and that there is a real threat. If the kid had responded properly to the order to drop the gun, he wouldn't have been shot. Also, if an armed suspect is holding a gun, is ordered to drop the gun by the police, but makes a move toward the police still holding the gun, like turning to face the police, they should not be waiting to have the gun pointed directly at them before they neutralize the threat. Again, it's not just their lives that are at stake but anyone in the vacinity - known or unknown.
  15. One of my favorite lines? Except you're wrong MT. If any evidence comes to light that shows they acted inappropriately, I'll change my position. I'm not jumping to conclusions based on some preconceived notion, that's all on you.
  16. There's plenty of reason to lie, yet there's no reason to assume they are in this case, outside of your usual preconceived notion of police. You're mind is made up MT. It was from the onset. You have provided nothing to support your assumption of police misconduct. So ya, I guess this discussion is pointless.
  17. The facts as we know it are all we have to go on. You choose to assume, out of the gate, with no supporting evidence, that they must be lying and can't be trusted. You're right MT, I won't assume they are lying unless there is reason for it. There is none here so that's the conclusion I jump to.
