  1. Yes some. And not anywhere close to last year. He's had a year similar to last year but he's also had many more mediocre to crappy years and that was true well before he was ever in an Angels uniform. Blaming his sucktatude while an Angel on Butcher is ridiculous.
  2. Some better, but close to his norms and far from last year's flash.
  3. So he's a little better but nothing close to last year. Ya I know.
  4. He has some but he's inconsistent. Some pitchers never come around.
  5. That's not accurate greg. He was mediocre before the Angels and he was mediocre with the Angels. He had one quick flash of being a stellar closer and then fell back to his norms this year.
  6. You're a few digits short of a handful. But Santana threw exactly like he has here before. He's notoriously inconsistent and a head case. Rodney flashed stellar for the first time in his long career last year and then came back to earth this year. Walden has been about the same but he is also young and we should expect him to improve as he matures at this level.
  7. Or maybe not. But let's assume that since it makes for a angrier argument.
  8. Reading comprehension. Slow down and try again. Put your angry eyes away.
  9. The pitching staff isn't good, no matter who coaches them. Firing Butcher doesn't change that.
  10. Maybe because the people in charge that work with those guys don't think they are a good fit going forward or they have someone in mind they feel is better.
  11. I don't know specifically designed but as the owner of the team, ultimately the buck stops at his desk. He has a vision for what he wants this team to do. He has been willing to open his wallet and spend big dollars for the roster. He's been willing to invest money in other aspects of the business to make the fan experience better. He wants to win. So after failing to do that agsin, despite all of that, he has to look in the mirror to see what he could do differently. Does he have the right people in place, does he buy in to the philosophies, should he make changes or stick with the plan? What do his baseball people say? What is their plan, does he agree with it? There are a lot of things he can reflect on before moving forward.
  12. Only if you buy into the Arte interfering with baseball operations and acquisitions I guess.
  13. Why are the pitching issues on this team a reflection of the coach? This isn't a good staff no matter who's coaching them.
  14. And some people like you will believe anything a sports writer writes speculative or not.
  15. even Hamilton met with Dipoto at winter meetings for Preliminary discussions. Moreno wisely got involved to seal the deal on both signings. Who better to sell a prospective FA on the merits of becoming part of the Angels family? Nice personal touch. It was a prudent business decision. Dipoto initiated the deals and Moreno closed them. The notion that it was all Arte and he forced Dipoto's hand on these deals is baloney. On big money deals like these, it's not unusual for an owner to get involved in the process.
