  1. Binged watched the first 5 episodes and so far, I think it's definitely underrated. It starts a little slow, but it does start to pick up. The story-line is interesting enough, especially if you're into Mongolian & Chinese Empire history. The show has a Crouching Tiger meets Game of Thrones feel to it. Not sure if has any historical worth, but for me the entertainment value is excellent. Probably will finish it by the end of the week.
  2. Another multi-goal victory! Getzlaf interview on OilersTV. http://video.oilers.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=697611&catid=4 Love this quote from captain: "Injuries, sickness, those are excuses. They need to be opportunities."
  3. Nice Chuck! I haven't even started yet...lol Going to watch the first episode tonight.
  4. What a pass by Vatanen to Palmieri! Another Getzlaf snipe.
  5. I would give the 2nd season of HoC another shot if I were you. Definitely worth watching. The 2nd season of OiTNB, isn't as good as the 1st, but still a fun watch.
  6. Leblanc has some huge games against the A's Wish him luck in Japan.
  7. Great read. HK47 will always be a Halo in my book.
  8. Netflix will premiere its $90 million show Marco Polo, Friday, December 12. They will release all 10 episode for the world’s binge-watching pleasure. Anyone plan on watching?
  9. I hope he signs. I prefer Beckham over Green at 2nd right now. Unless Green impresses in ST, I would feel more comfortable giving the job to the vet.
  10. Here's How Much the Storm Is Helping California's Epic Drought In the midst of the most intense drought in hundreds of years, Northern California is being bombarded with rain. In a state that produces roughly half of the country's fruits and veggies, the water is more than welcome. The storm is expected to dump 2-8 inches of water in the Bay Area, and 2-5 inches in Southern California. But California would need 18-21 more inches of rain over the next six months in order to make up for the drought, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The state usually gets about 23 inches of rain per year. LINK
  11. The storm is expected to dump enough snow on California's mountains that the state's snowpack — currently only 35% of average for this time of year — could be at 75% or higher by this weekend. Might be a good time to hit up Mammoth.
  12. Super sad to see Howie go. I was one his biggest supporters on here, but we needed starting pitching in a bad way. Hope Heaney is worth it.
  13. I'm glad Perry's injury wasn't to serious. It's early in the season....better now than later.
  14. "It would be difficult for us to go out and upgrade our roster. We had an average-or-better major league player at every position on the field. That’s hard to go out and replicate and find. The going rate for that on the free agent market is high, and in order to bring that guy in we’re putting someone else that is average-or-better out of work. So, I don’t know that it makes sense to try and fix something that’s just not broken." http://kfwbam.com/2014/12/09/angels-gm-jerry-dipoto-why-fix-something-thats-not-broken/
  15. Winnipeg forward Evander Kane has been suspended 2 games for boarding Anaheim defenseman Clayton Stoner. https://twitter.com/NHLPlayerSafety/status/542081799661584384?s=09 I didn't even think it was that bad when I was watching live.
  16. Ha...I'm the opposite. I prefer nice even numbers. I can't stand odd numbers/prices for this reason: "Psychological pricing: is a pricing/marketing strategy based on the theory that certain prices have a psychological impact. The retail prices are often expressed as "odd prices": a little less than a round number, e.g. $19.99. Consumers tend to perceive “odd prices” as being significantly lower than they actually are, tending to round to the next lowest monetary unit. Thus, prices such as $1.99 are associated with spending $1 rather than $2. The theory that drives this is that lower pricing such as this institutes greater demand than if consumers were perfectly rational." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_pricing
  17. Yup, I've seen goalies give harder cross-checks than that love tap. I would love the NHL to implement a coach's challenge for these type of situations....I can't imagine the sh*t storm if this happened in the playoffs, and cost a team a victory.
