  1. Wow, Cabrera just pounded in a long birdie on 16 and joins Scott at the top. Day with another bogey.
  2. Spoke too soon. Day is suddenly faltering, and Adam Scott has come back to tie him at the top. The nerves here must be ridiculous.
  3. Torii Hunter is 3-4 today, hitting .415 on the season. Detroit is all over Oakland.
  4. Day with three straight birdies, taking control of this tournament. He got a nice break on 15, his tee shot hitting a tree and bouncing back into the middle of the fairway.
  5. Don't get all technical on me now!
  6. Take away his race cars and he'll have more time to think about how to pitch.
  7. If we get some more runs here, CJ had better not blow it!
  8. They actually started 10-1 but who's counting? Now 11-1 after today's win.
  9. Trout is finally waking up. I expect him to go on a tear soon.
  10. Tiger making a little noise here with birdies at 9 and 10, but he's still six shots behind.
  11. Philip Humber last year, since his perfect game in April: 14 starts 4-5 7.39 ERA .297 BAA 87 innings 23 home runs This year: 11.2 innings 0-2 3.09 ERA 1.114 WHIP
  12. ...and the two Eckstein grand slams on consecutive days against Toronto, the second one a walk-off in the 14th inning. I felt at the time there was something special brewing. We traveled to Cleveland and beat them 21-2 and just kept winning.
  13. I was there! Section 513. Went with some friends. They got free tickets through some OC Register promotion. Great view of the game-winning double and Trout charging around third to the plate. What a feel-good win! It was one of the best games I've been to, which up until the last moment was one of the most frustrating games I've been to. Thank you, Albert! Howie Kendrick might have been the happiest man in the ballpark after it was over.
  14. Angel Cabrera is playing some beautiful shots today.
  15. If we keep losing, a fire sale might be in the cards.
  16. Shuck starting in place of Bourjos is inexcusable. Hamilton remaining in the cleanup spot is also inexcusable.
  17. Look out for Snedeker. He is one shot back of the lead and just placed his tee shot on the par-3 16th hole within a few feet of the hole. edit: He birdied 15 and 16 and is co-leader.
  18. Forgot to mention that in his first start, against Texas, he allowed one run in 6 innings.
  19. Furyk has recovered nicely from that double bogey with birdies at 6 and 8. He is two shots back. I'm still picking him to win it. edit: jinxed him. He just bogeyed 9.
  20. Lucas Harrell (0-2, 7.84 ERA) is scheduled to take the mound (for Houston) after control issues plagued him in Sunday's 9-3 loss to Oakland. The right-hander was tagged for eight runs and seven hits, including a career-high three homers, while walking five and tossing 112 pitches in 4 1-3 innings. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/astros-angels-preview-071311223--mlb.html
