  1. I like Ohtani. But how many times can he say “ret’s go!” And get everybody all fired up? I mean even Moustafa’s rah rah speech a couple of months ago or whatever was all about him! (He lives in Malibu and probably wants to stay here) If you wanna flip tables and go postal you can do that too…but try it when the team is winning! The players will be more receptive to the message! Kicking a dog when he’s down rarely works with adults. I mean…you can do that…but usually you end up looking like a bloody retard when you do.
  2. Minassian sold Moreno a bill of goods. I can take him or leave him. Take a look at Nevin. Look closely at his background. Did he win as a player? Did he win as a manager? Being fair….he was a good player. ONE team he played on qualified for post season, and were swept. There are who Players who MIGHT respond to his style…but not this group. If you wanna keep Ohtani…hire Ichiro. You can deliver a gut-punch to a division rival by doing so. Ichiro will probably end up managing the club in Seattle. His English is so-so. Big deal. Nobody listens to the manager anyways these days. Hell…hire the Japanese National baseball Team to fill the roster. I bet THEY could play .500 ball. Ohtani can’t lead if he can’t speak to anybody without an interpreter. Surround him with a few of his boys maybe what he does will get contagious.
  3. 45 games left…. Let’s see here …. To get to 90 wins …we’ll need to go 32-13 ….(.711)
  4. If you’re going to pitch, you’re gonna give up some home runs. If you’re going to hit, you’re gonna strike out. And if you’re gonna “GM” …. You’re gonna have some injuries. It’s “next man up” if somebody goes down. There’s no crying, and no excuses in Baseball. If you’re a GM….the You gotta bring somebody up…or get your checkbook out. Turn ‘‘em over to your coaching staff. Maybe tell them “this is the change of scenery they’ve been looking for” Then….You gotta “coach ‘‘em up” …that’s why you have a coaching staff. You gotta be able to get more out of your players than any previous coach has gotten out of them. No matter who you have on your Roster. Can anyone say that’s happened here across the board? If we can risk a moment of honesty, I don’t think anyone can honestly say that. I’m sorry, but Nevin is not the miracle worker many believe him to be. But I’m a reasonable guy. I’d be willing to accept apologies FROM Perry and/or Nevin. It’s about wins. Bottom line. This is professional sports. We aren’t winning. I’m getting really sick of it, too. Aren’t you?
  5. 12-game losing streak last year cost Maddon his job. 27-29 record was “unacceptable”… This season, we’ve seen a couple of “streaks.” One streak the ballclub lost nine outta 10….and currently we are in the midst of a seven game losing streak. As of now, they are sitting on a 56-58 record (which is like going 28-29 TWICE) This is acceptable because Nevin is more open to implementing “analytics?”….. Okay…I get it
  6. I would replace him with the entire coaching staff of Team Japan that won the WBC….who knows? you might just keep Ohtani around for another 10 years or so. Or….ICHIRO Effective immediately
  7. If the current losing streak reaches 12 games…..does that mean Nevin gets fired?
  8. Adell just doesn’t instill fear to anyone when he steps up to the plate. At least anyone on the other team I did some research on his career stats at the major league level and I don’t see where he has ever been walked intentionally. I remember a series last season against (I think) the astros. They didn’t throw him any off-speed pitches. They didn’t even waste an 0-2 pitch on him. No matter who was on the mound…each pitcher absolutely MOWED him down with fastballs. He was looking so bad and lost at the plate that had I been pitching for the astro’s that series, I wouldn’t have even taken a sign from the catcher. I would have GIVEN the sign to the catcher….and to Adell….and to everyone in the stadium. Here it comes Kinda like the pitchers do between innings with their warm-up tosses. You know….give the sign from the mound to the catcher. Flick the glove forward towards the plate when you take that first step back in your windup. Here it comes….FASTBALL With a little MC Hammer’s “can’t touch this” through the PA System as he walks back to the dugout. I’m just sayin’
  9. The only thing that needs to happen is for the team to start kicking ass and to never stop kicking ass. It really shouldn’t be this difficult. Teams either kick ass or they don’t. Cheating should be encouraged. Anything goes. The entire organization needs to stop f****** around and start a long and endless journey of kicking ass. To step on some necks. To make some enemies. To become literally HATED by all because of all the ass you kick. What’s not to like about my program of kicking ass 24/7/365? If we fail to kick ass then there better be some REASONS this time around. I’m sick of all the excuses.
  10. So when is the team going to start kicking some ass? That’s all I’d like to know….
  11. I think I’m coming down with Jo Adell fatigue.
  12. I think the best ability is “availability” ... Rengifo certainly isn’t a franchise player. But he was a bright spot last season. I’d like to see him draw more walks and strike out less and swing at better pitches. There are many things he could do better. But he kept suiting up and showing up and I’d say he took advantage of the opportunity he got last season. To me he’s like an offensive lineman who can play center guard or tackle. He brings value. He’s relatively on the cheap. For what he’s getting paid I’d say it’s a good bang for your buck. He still needs to make adjustments at the plate as the pitchers around the league make adjustments to him now....there’s a lot of his plate appearances on film. Time will tell how that pans out. If I’m making out a lineup card I personally like seeing my best bats in that lineup. I’d say I’d be looking for opportunities to get him plenty of looks, if possible. we had some injuries last year and every time the dust settled he was still standing. Availability. Overall I like him. Wasn’t so sure about him at first. He grew on me. I found myself having to keep tipping my cap to the guy. Hope they keep him around.
  13. They would be fools to let Rengifo go. If they dump/demote Adell and/or Moniak to Salt Lake City, Rengifo “could” start in left field and not hurt you defensively. In fact he can plug into a lot of places defensively. I can live with his shortcomings on defense because I like his bat in the lineup.....DAILY. I like his hustle. Hitting coaches did a nice job with him last season and give him credit for buying in on what the hitting coaches were selling. I’ve read some comments here regarding there now being a shortage of left handed hitters. Being a switch hitter alone should keep him around. Looking forward to seeing what he does in ‘23. Switch hitter who can play multiple positions defensively. What’s not to like about Rengifo? Honestly I’m kinda shocked that dealing him is even being discussed.
  14. Well....even though I have never voted ....I AM his speech writer in case you were wondering (this too is a joke) It’s all good man thanks for the explanation And for those of you who are a little “weary” from my ramblings ....I apologize ....it is what it is. Many of my friends and ALL of my family members like to tell others “don’t get him started!”
  15. I don’t care either. I’ve expressed my views. I don’t consider wanting the team to exceed expectations or getting the needle moving in the right direction to be ideas that anyone would disagree with. And If they did I don’t see any reason to turn it into a personal attack. Perhaps I am mistaken in taking the “Biden” comment as such. If I am mistaken, then simply allow me to “ramble” as you have worded it. Or maybe you can edit my posts for me before I push “submit reply” if that makes you feel better. I’m not here to pick fights. I don’t like to go there. But if you insist, you’ll see I’m more than capable of defending my dugout.
  16. I’m 62 years old chief. Never voted once in my life. Not in the Nevin or the Maddon camp. I’m not an either-or guy. I would like to see the team get the needle pointing in the right direction. Have you noticed everything is trending down for this ball club the last 8-9 years? I’d like to see the team exceed expectations at least once before your boy Biden finishes his second term Don’t care who it is who is pulling the strings from the dugout (if that’s even allowed anymore ) I have no dog in the race. You got a dog in the race? Oh Wait....I think I know the answer to that.
  17. Did the Angels interview ANY other Managerial candidates before dumping another year in Nevin’s lap? One would think they would. And doing so certainly would be “in the best interest of the organization” ....at least those were the words Minasian used when he fired Maddon. He said “a different voice” was in order? He was pretty convinced he had a playoff team when Maddon was fired. I think he said “we still have 106 games left to prove it” and that “talk is cheap” Okay. The “different voice” fell upon deaf ears. 46-60 in the last 106 games that they had to “prove it” Are you sure Minasian wanted a “different voice”? Or was he making sure that his voice is the ONLY voice that is heard? No further interviews. Doesn’t matter if you land a top-tier guy. Brandon Hyde is certainly not top tier. He has the lowest payroll in the league. In the toughest division in the AL. Was picked to win around 60 games this season. Sold at the trade deadline. And won 83 games. What we need is a manager who can get whatever players we have to EXCEED the expectations. Every f****** season! That may not translate into a playoff appearance or a World Championship but let’s not put the cart in front of the horse here. Minasian/Nevin have failed and will continue to fail. Their job is to get the team to EXCEED whatever expectations there are. They are not capable of doing this. The “last 106 games” proved it. There was no improvement in the 5-9 slots in the batting order whatsoever. Doesn’t matter if they already sucked. The managers job is to make them suck less or not suck at all. As bad as Adell is ....He hit .250 last year. He’s trending down....smaller sample size yeah but the numbers don’t lie. Many of you may say “it’s Minasian’s team” and applaud his overreach. No. It isn’t his team. It’s Moreno’s team up until he sells it. The team is under Minasians watch. Big difference. He has been a failure as a steward of the Orgnanization. Stoneman was the only guy who handled it. Get your manager the horses and let the manager manage them. What a concept. Whatever Minasian/Nevin are selling....nobody’s buying, regardless of how they posture to the media.
