  1. I play primarily MTTs, yes. for reference: goderekgo.com is my blog threesheetstotheriver.com is my current podcast
  2. I've played with the chip leader and he is a legitimate grinder. Max Steinberg has won a bracelet already and is a good guy and word is Max never sells pieces or swaps. 100% of himself and in the Nov 9... sick.
  3. My palate is very dull. It takes a lot of bite for me to enjoy a beer. I tend to lean towards beers with 9+ ABV and/or 70+ IBUs. The Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine series is a solid for me at 11.6 ABV. 1.6 pint does the job. I can also enjoy a Fat tire, Sierra Nevada, Negro Modelo, every once in a while. I don't do hard alcohol all that much, but when I get comp'd drinks in the casino I like to order a dirty martini straight up w/ gin (bombay sapphire). Two of those and I'm feeling good.
  4. I'm so ****ing happy that I powered through the beginning of the first season. This is awesome now!
  5. His name is Kirk Acevedo and he's great in Fringe. I've played poker with him on numerous occasions. Good guy.
  6. His jokes on twitter are outdated. Some being brought to attention were 2 years ago (still behind the times). I think his stand up and delivery is well above average. He had a few tweets poking fun of atheists, clearly indicating he had not done his due diligence in researching what an atheist actually believes before posting. Could be a bad choice for the daily show if he doesn't have a solid work ethic.
  7. You forgot about THE Q Autry, Arty, Ryan, Salmon, Vlad, Quinlan and Trout.
  8. Quiet is an excellent read. I find myself having trouble with small talk as well. I'd rather talk about personal things, but for some people its awkward to start personal. Therefore, I'll come off as indifferent or uninterested or just creepy at times and conversations never get started. I can sit for 12+ hours at the poker table and never lose interest. Its a good mix of being among people while not being obligated to hold a conversation throughout. I dread speaking in front of large groups. When my brother got married I was co-best man. I had to make a speech and I was terrified. I knew it meant a lot to my brother so I studied hard and performed in front of my mirror for weeks until I memorized every word and expression. Eventually I gave an 8 minute speech and was congratulated by many people I didn't even know. A few told me it was one of the best speeches they had ever heard. I was one of the greatest moments of my life, because I got to share it with my family. I was drained for a week, but relieved. *I heart AW because if it wasn't for you guys as a whole I would still be a shy little hermit kid with no spine. I grew with this group in a big way. (Spring Training '09 - Thank you) I will always remember where I came from.
  9. Spoiler link. Pretty much everything Cory was talking about. http://moviepilot.com/posts/2014/12/10/agents-of-shield-inhumans-join-the-marvel-cinematic-universe-at-last-2496192?lt_source=external,manual
  10. This last episode was horrible. If you're invested, just wait until the midseason finale to binge watch and catch up.
  11. *Spoiler* (Don't know if this is spoiler worthy or not) Just caught up on this!. That last scene with Ward, Whitehall, and Skye's dad was excellent. A lot was being said without saying much. The fact that Ward has claimed to know a lot about Skye's dad makes me believe that Ward is playing the "good" side, afterall. Ward is indeed a great complex character. Flawed emotionally, but very professional and precise, always five steps ahead. Not sure of his main motive, but he is definitely looking out for Skye in the interim.
  12. Excellent. Every interviewee is AngelsWin. I'm standing behind Mike with my shades. Anyone working on the other interview links?
  13. I'm sorry, but it didn't hit me until I had to type it out to my gf that Mike is gone. I'm in tears as I type. Mike also mentioned how much he appreciated the AW community. A whole F'n lot. He was going to post an update, but he needed to get past the rough patch first. Tank, he could not put into words how much your time and efforts meant to him. He appreciated all the prayer lists. He said it gave him strength. I'm sad I had to be the one passing on this information, because there are more people who have touched him to which we did not talk about.
  14. I was able to sit down and have lunch with Mike during Halloween weekend. My gf and I brought him Spaghetti w/ red sauce from BJ's Restaurant. It didn't sit well with me to see Mike bald and thin, I wanted to hit cancer over the head repeatedly with a bat. When I arrived I could see him sitting on the front room recliner playing online poker on his phone. I've played poker with Mike at a few home games, even at a few AW events. He genuinely loves the game. His dry humor is memorable, honest, and always appreciated by me at the table and at social functions. As we began eating at the dinner table, I was happy to see he had not lost his appetite. His conversing skills were still in form, the good ol' Percy with a few painful coughs mixed in from the stupid pos cancer. He told me a story that I've heard before, but It had been a while and I love to hear refreshers. He was at the Bellagio back before poker's black friday. There were big named pros sitting in Bobby's Room (A private glass room in the Bellagio set aside for the big game) playing their normal variety of games. He spotted Gus Hansen in the game, who was a decorated backgammon champion. Mike (being a backgammon enthusiast himself) walks over and asked the host if he knew where to find backgammon games out here in Vegas. The host then says, "Gus is big on backgammon, I'm sure I could ask and he'll start a game for you. I'm thinking he'll play $25k a point" Mike then replies, "Hmm, $25k... Why doesn't Gus stop being such a tight ass and play me for $100k a point" (*Im sure this was executed with the Percy stare of seriousness) The host replies while reaching for his phone, "Heh... I'll text him, I'm sure he'll accommodate you." Mike then stops the host as he's about to type "I'm just kiding, sorry, but thanks" Mike told this story with a big smile. He capped it by saying it was the time he almost played Gus for grips of money at backgammon (a fanboys dream) Mike tells this story much better than I wrote it, I hope I did it justice, Mike. By this point Mike is nearly done with his full serving of spaghetti, while pinpointing that BJ's is great, but they need to work on their garlic bread. "This bread is crunchy as F and no one needs to eat croutons with a meal, Derek" He then lights up and offers us desert, Breyers Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. He told us it was his favorite and after trying it, I can see why. It was absolutely delicious, thanks again Mike. Throughout the visit there were some emotional points, which I would rather keep between us. Cancer is a POS. We say our good byes. After a long hug, we make plans to see each other at spring training. Mike PercySquint Sword still remained confident, positive and strong despite his fear and pain. I love you, Mike and it was an honor to have shared moments of life with you.
