Results of MRI and Brain Scan pending?

Sorry to disagree, but I don't see any change in emotion from when they started the year.  I see a team that is playing better on a more consistent basis.  There is some marginal improvement in the starting pitching, and a little more improvement from the bullpen.  The defense is also improved, perhaps because the communication among the defenders is better.  I still think they waste too many clutch hitting chances.

They need pitching depth and quality desperately, and unfortunately there is no quick fix for that.  I wouldn't do anything at the trade deadline (as of now) unless they can get a major, long term boost in pitching without damaging the offense much.  It's in DiPoto's hands at the moment.

I was there, the ball was hit off the end of the bat, and it appeared it took funny little dive at the end like a top hand lob shot.

I thought the play he made in the bottom of the ninth on the first batter was terrific, especially given he had just struck out in the top of the inning on three pitches.  He got a great jump on that one, and caught it against the wall.  That ball was hit hard.  A runner on second with no one out could have been real trouble. 

I was field level about 15 rows behind the Angel dugout.

King Felix got his ass handed to him last night and now AJ wants to trade one of the two of the guys went yard on him, the reliever that shut the door on the Mariners hit parade and three of our best prospects. I never knew Tony Reagins went by AJ.

That was a great play, don't see that happen very often.

Talk is cheap, Albert. While he is hitting better, it will take an extended performance of hitting better until I am convinced. Also, this speaks very poorly of our hitting coach. Apparently the team would be better off with Andrea Bocelli or Stevie Wonder as hitting coach. I know Hatcher certainly wouldn't have been any help, but it seems that Eppard is not doing much of a job either.

Actually, I don't really believe any hitting coach will make that much of a difference.  It's more like witchcraft than coaching.  Remember when folks wanted McGuire after he was the Cardinals hitting coach, now he's "helping" the Dodgers, nuff said.

If you are going to permanently sit Hamilton, isn't that the same as writing off the remainder of his contract?  Nothing will get accomplished if they take that approach, except you lose another $100M +.  I would argue that will hurt the team more.

I think a key determining factor in the Kendrick trade decision is when do we expect the team to be ready to contend again.  Is that next year, 2015, 2016, or 2017.You trade Howie now only if you think that we will not contend until 2016 or later in my mind.  Any pitching prospects you get in return probably won't be effectively ready until then.

He shouldn't even be in the lineup at all. But I guess this is a start.

Yeah cool, let's let someone who gets paid $25M per year to play baseball sit on the bench and drink milk shakes.  I'd run him out there in practice and games until he couldn't stand any longer, or broke his body trying.

I'd like to see Bourjos hit 2nd. Dude can crush fastballs and with Trout on base a good chunk of the time that's a good thing. Hamilton needs to be moved down to 6th until he's proven he's back to form.

Except the higher you put Hamilton in the order the more pressure you put on him to perform, and that might be a good thing in his case.  Someone needs to straighten Hamilton out mentally.

If he were to FINALLY get the plantar fascia surgery done in October, how long is the recovery period normally?

My doctor told me that the surgery correction for a normal person is about a 3 month recovery process.  Depends on the severity of course, but for a 32 year old baseball player I really don't know.  He also needs something done to his knee again it appears, he might have come back too soon on that one.  That could be another whole variety of things, and recovery times.
