I agree that pitching is the greatest need, but catching and 3rd base are not satisfactory.  There are no easy fixes.

2002 was 11 years ago, just because they won a World Series doesn't make them special, or the correct personnel in 2013.  They are special guys because of the 2002 season.  People change, times change, change happens everywhere, deal with it.

Pujols was once special, Hamilton was once special, so was Chuck Finley and so on.  I loved the 2002 season, but this is freaking 2013, that was then and this is now.

Oh, let's harbor a grudge from 18 years ago.  Maybe we should bomb Japan one more time too, just because they pizzed us off at Pearl Harbor.

I can't stop thinking about Jerry's comments that this team "one bad streak away from .....".  I've never heard a GM openly declare that before.  Just shut up and get something done, why play the threat game?  When the team hits another "bad streak" (and they will), and he has to put his actions in place, and can't get something properly and promptly done, he's going to look rather idiotic.

The Angels, "youre having too much success, Howard, please switch it up."

This coaching staff has literally lost it.

On this one I think they have a point.  Opposing teams will eventually make it hard on him to keep doing the same thing, i.e. they will just keep pitching in inside enough that it will become difficult on him to sustain his streak.  That's the way I read the article, when he can no longer sustain the right field approach, then he needs to turn on pitches inside and drive them. 

Let's project Jerry's comments instead.  Scioscia is like the pilot on a burning plane, and there are no fire extinguishers on board.  Jerry thinks he's the man.  Maybe he likes creating a mess so he can claim he knows how to fix something?

sure, let's ignore the fact that he's been pitching lights out all year and pretend it's just the angels sucking. although the angels do suck this year, but that's not the point!!!
