Well, I don’t think it’s ridiculous that the Dodgers signed him. Pujols is a better option vs. LHP’s than Muncie. Pujols is also a better option vs. LHP’s than Jared Walsh but maybe Minasian’s plan is to use Gosselin at 1B vs. Lefty’s like they did yesterday. I think Gosselin is a better option than Walsh or Pujols vs. LHP’s.

Well, in the five drafts from 2015 through 2019 Canning is the only pitcher the Angels selected in the first two rounds. Don't know if it would have made a difference but we could have used a few of the other 9 picks on pitchers. Also, it doesn't feel like we are developing young pitchers in the minors. Maybe Rodriguez and Sandoval can change that perception. And we haven't developed many international pitchers and our FA signings have not produced. So it remains a work in progress.

Well, Ohtani and Canning will be in the rotation so the plan will be to build around them. Resigning Options: Bundy, Cobb Inside Options: Sandoval, Rodriguez and Detmers Outside Options: Scherzer, Lynn, Ray, Gray, Davies

I feel the same way. Maybe Trout is taken for granted because he is so amazing but Ohtani is something no other MLB has had since Babe Ruth. Ohtani gives us options no other MLB team has!!

Yeah, I would like him on our team as I believe Andrew Friedman will use him - in the lineup vs. LH starters and PH off the bench vs. RH starters. I believe Albert Pujols has the same value over Max Muncy he has over Jared Walsh in those situations.

You do realize it's possible Perry Minasian bumbled this whole thing. Handled differently he may have got him on board. But yeah, good riddance.

Yeah, I don't understand why Maddon replaced Quintana with Slegers. Righty on righty for Chavis? Maybe, but there was one out, one on in a two run game with Lefty Devers up after Chavis. So Maddon brings Slegers in and he gives up a 1B and a HR to those guys. Makes no sense to me.

Those aren't numbers. They are an opinion. I am certain Andrew Friedman used numbers prior to signing Pujols. My opinion is I will trust Andrew Friedman. It's frustrating for me because I have been an Angels fan for 50 years but the realist in me believes the Dodgers got it right and we did not. Have a nice day.

Kinda true, but I believe OPS trumps those things. Also, the Angels have more bench options than any other team in MLB.

You don't know what Pujols wanted or what the Angels wanted. The only thing we know is that the Angels are now in a more difficult situation versus LHP's.

Yeah, I'm sure the best mind in baseball, Andrew Friedman, is subscribing to this blinded five year non-theory of @stormngt and @Tank. Look at the numbers guys. Take your emotions out of it. Pujols will add value to the Dodgers as an alternative to Muncy against Leftys just as he would have as an alternative to Jared Walsh against Leftys. His OPS is more than 200 points higher than either of them against LHP's. Minasian whiffed...Friedman owns him. I'm certain the two of you know more than Andrew Friedman...
