  1. Even with low expectations, there’s still a bar that needs to be met. And if he fails to meet that, he’ll get canned.
  2. That stupidity is gonna hurt Adell 1000x more in Wash’s eyes than what hitting a HR does to help.
  3. what are the odds of a back-and-forth post-game between the manager and a reporter about Sanó?
  4. And what happened with Eppler? He was fired at the end of the season, even with a contract option having been picked up
  5. It would’ve made more sense, but does this organization always do the most sensible thing? His deal is up after the season, so they’ll have to make some sort of decision no matter what.
  6. Yes, that would’ve been ideal 3 years ago.
  7. Looks like it’s 8, but your point still applies. https://www.mlb.com/news/automatic-runner-permanent-new-mlb-rules-for-position-players-pitching
  8. I don’t agree with every single gripe, but a lot of them are on point. A competent org would’ve fired Perry and let the new GM come in and pick his manager. Instead, Perry will get fired after the season and Wash will be a lame duck stuck with a new GM next year.
  9. It means they’re gonna have to use their leverage guys in a game they’re losing or Sanó throws a couple innings.
  10. They can cover it, but I don’t know if they can effectively cover it. If you have to use García or Fulmer to hold a lead as a bridge to the back 3, that’s a little suspect.
  11. It seems like the Angels might have trouble covering innings in today’s game. Cisnero, Strickland, and Suarez are all probably unavailable. That leaves Estévez, Moore, Cimber, García, and Fulmer. While Soriano is on a ~60 pitch limit.
  12. I’d say, compared to other GMs, Perry has done a bad job. But he’s also dealing with a more difficult owner than 28(?) other GMs.
  13. Didn’t know where to put this, but I wonder if they DFA Strickland before today’s game. He’s pitched the last two games, so he’s unavailable today. Would allow them to add a fresh arm.
  14. I don't feel like I should be criticizing too much in a game they're winning by 6 runs, but these kind of decisions can affect the pen usage in the days ahead. I don't blame Wash for not trusting a lot of the guys out in the pen besides Cimber, Moore, and Esty, but now would be the time to give em a shot.
  15. If Anderson's was gonna have a one baserunner leash with a 6-run lead, why even bother sending him out there? Just give the reliever a clean inning. And I'm not sure I love using Cimber here either. Shrug.
  16. Sure, but it’s his unwillingness to admit he’s wrong and operate differently that’s the issue. Instead, he’s being stubborn and doing it his way.
  17. The funny thing about this story, in my opinion, is Sam Blum was apparently so locked in on watching the “Calling all Angels” video on Saturday and Sunday that he was able to determine they edited that part out.
  18. I don’t. He’s a rich billionaire who provides nothing but disappointment to hundreds of thousands of people.
  19. I haven’t seen anything. Maybe they do it tomorrow when they have their home opener.
  20. It’s possible it’s a mistake, but MiLB.tv lists Tri-City as having a video broadcast at home now.
  21. I think they’re trying to balance winning games and giving young players opportunities. Like I said, I’m not worried about them not having enough ABs for guys. If signing Hicks or Sanó forced Adell/Moniak off the roster, that’d be an issue. But it didn’t, and Adell/Moniak will get PT eventually.
  22. There’s less to criticize when there’s actually a competent manager with a track record of success in place.
