Hogwash!
You are a goldmine for meme potential and I love you.
It's not a meme, it's the law Man..or have you not heard of " all men are created equal " and the 1st ammendment.
and I love you too.
some of us actually believe in what our flag and constitution stand for. Even in a relatively minor forum such as this. As Voltaire said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

@ukyah: first off this is a fans message board. Everyone who is a fan is entitled to post here. I called Lou a bully because that's what he is, pure and simple. Any one who thinks they have a right to try and intimidate another poster or roast any other for expressing their opinion is a bully. It is what it is.
You want to call me a troll, that's fine. That's your opinion I don't happen to agree with it but it's still your right to post it so I accept it for what it is. 1 post or 10,000 posts it doesn't matter.each one should stand on its own merits.
that why I called Lou what I did, he acts like the sheer weight of his number of posts earns him the right to be the thought police. guess what it doesnt. In these United states, we are all equal, born with inalienable rights and a responsibility to speak out.
anyone who thinks that by the sheer force of their personality, that they can tread on another's free speech is a bully and I will call them on it. And as for stradlings position that real men don't call other men bullies, Hogwash!!! It takes a person with conviction to stand up in a community and risk disapproval to state what might be an unpopular opinion. King George in 1776 wasn't to thrilled with the idea of revolution either. I guess that if there was a public forum back then he would have called all Americans trolls and douchebags too.

I have been critical of Eppler’s mistakes in the past, especially his FA signings but I think some of us really need to step back and take stock.
This team is a lot better now on January 1 than they were going into the offseason. And I don't think Eppler is done yet.
The starting pitching is better. The lineup is better. The defense is better. The bullpen is better
Last year seemed like a perfect storm scenario. I think if we get healthy seasons from the players who were injured last year, positive progressions from the young players, good seasons from Rendon, Teheran, Bundy and add a decent catcher then this is a playoff team.
Not much to disagree with on the surface but you do realize that in general that is true for most teams. In my experience, and I'm sure in yours as well, most of our hoped for endeavors don't work out as we wish them to.
you list 4 hopes
1. Healthy seasons
2. Positive progressions
3. Good Seasons
4. A Quality catcher
of the 4 experience says that one of the 4 will happen, one of the 4 will worsen. One of the 4 remain the same, and one will work out in a way that none of us could have imagined.
that how life works. It's best if you build in redundancies

The kid has an electric arm but because of that these trade proposals are too low. The cardinals asking price would start with adell. Balk at that they have zero reason to talk to you
you don't get an arm like his for prospects you want to give up.

Lol at using Eovaldi against Eppler. That contract is a point in Eppler’s favor and evidence that it’s probably not smart to drop a huge amount on non elite pitchers. Wheeler was offered more money by the White Sox so it would have taken more than 120, and taken us out on Cole most likely. Wheeler is probably regretting signing so early, he’d get 5/150 if he waited until after Strasburg and Cole.
But yeah, Corbin was a definite miss in hindsight.
agreed, having Watched Wheelers every start. lets just put it this way, Im glad my mets gave DeGrom his contract and not Wheeler. he might be better in Philly, but not 150M better

They offered him more years.... But more per year???? Has the actually dollar figure per year been made public?
ive looked the only thing reported was on MLB
they said the yankees went 324
the dodgers 8/300
and the Angels 8/297
but i dont think it mattered being a met fan in NY, after they publically came out, they would have offered 500M if they had to. its what they do
you cant blame the Angels for Cole

I mean for sure. But I suspect it wasn’t the difference.
a fair take, i mean 12M as opposed to 245M
i think both of us agree that the money would have been better spent on Madbum, Ryu and Donaldson, but thats hindsight

Ok missy. Sorry you are sensitive and struggle to handle differing opinions. Quick reminder you are a NY fan and came here, so forgive us if we call you out for trolling and ignorance. Hofstra did the win, Unless it’s sports or education.
no i came here with a suggestion, seeing that you needed pitching and I suggested happ because he would come FREE AND LIKELY EVEN SUBSIDIZED, and you mocked me. you could have said hes not what we're looking for, and that would be fine,
I just called you what you are
and now youre upset you were outed

Well also, the Angels are definitely not so deep that they really need to be worried about the guys they’re exposing in the rule 5 draft. I get that there are people who don’t think much of Wilson. He seems to profile as a typical high floor, low ceiling type of college bat most likely. But who knows. We won’t know anyway. At least not to our benefit. But that aside, he was still probably a top 10 guy in our system. And let’s face it. The Giants liked him enough to cough up 13 million. They sure as shit don’t give a damn about Zach Cozart. You’re never going to get teams to cough up money for genuinely trash prospects. Wilson is a useful asset.
yes i agree, i really wasnt agreeing with that particular move, I was just pointing out that in certain situations it is a tool that can be used
at the time it certainly was a head scratcher
If and I do mean if, because we dont know, but if it was the difference in landing rendon or not, I really cant complain

I don’t like the Wilson trade and have made that known. But my issue is more the idea of using prospects to dump money is bad. They’ve only done it the once so whatever. I’m not going to try and justify it tho. It looks bad.
that it does but i think there are exceptions,
if youve got a very deep farm system where youre going to lose players in the rule 5 draft otherwise , I dont see much of a problem using prospects your likely to lose anyway to help your luxury tax situation, giving up a first round pick is rather extreme however, so I grant you do have a point

That’s cool man. But seriously. And I’m not trying to be condescending. AW is a cool place. Lou and Stradling are cool so you don’t really need to worry about them. But in general online it’s a bad idea to use your name on Internet forums. I would urge you to change that.
thank you, and yes you are correct
Its honestly just a carryover from my time as a Fed, I didnt use a pseudonym then, even though many of my fellow Treasury Agents did, i felt it was dishonest in some way. I do however greatly appreciate your concern for my welfare. truly I do.
I have my opinions Some right and some wrong, I just feel as i did then, if im going to open my mouth or wear a badge, im not going to hide behind it

Second, I have enjoyed your posts for a long, long time. You keep stating how you are disappointed in Eppler with regards to the SP market this summer. While everyone is disappointed we didn't land a top tier pitcher or two, I would like to know what you would have liked Eppler to do. We know of the four who were never coming here. Would you have liked him to outbid the contracts for Ryu and/or Keuchel or are you referring to not pursuing the Homer Bailey's of the world?
I'm just wondering who some of the guys are you have in mind when you express your disappointment in Eppler.
i dont think hes necessarily speaking in regard to any specific pitchers, just that as more and more arms are signing elsewhere, the options are Dwindling, scarcity does tend to lead to higher prices and shall we say less enticing choices

Well, you're not very good at that because Morosi didn't say that Eppler was turned down.
He tweeted that conversations have stalled, and Marsh was discussed.
he did say it was turned down on MLB, stalled in this case just means the two sides couldnt come to an agreement
the tigers value their pitcher more than the Angels do apparently
especially since Al Avila said that he expects Boyd to be his opening day starter.
he said he has to listen to offers that his job

youre stuck with them RBM.
i dont want them, both of them are like Dog Turds on my shoe
I was just reporting what was said
-
word on the wfan in ny was the Angels Offered Jo Adell among others for Syndergaard but the mets turned it down and then acquired marisnick. if thats true at least eppler is trying
JP Morosi also said yesterday they tried for boyd but were turned down too

rendon is great help, i think it is a great move, but its only one side of the equation, Baseball is at least 50 percent pitching, theres a statement that good pitching stops good hitting, so even if the team wins a bunch of 10-8 games theres still gonna be a bunch where the hitting cant compensate for having a starting staff with an over 5 era, as MLB tv spoke of today. Joel Sherman, Tom Verducci and Jason Stark arent rocket scientists, I grant you but they do have a point.
as John Smoltz said it puts far too much pressure on Trout and Rendon
as an aside MLB trade rumors ran a poll tonight, and roughly 60% of those who voted said they expect the Angels to win fewer than 85 games

Hi Bill. How are you tonight?
So how many notches does he have left?
i really dont know RBM unlike the self proclaimed smartest man In the world (Lou) I know I dont know everything,
Im just honestly hoping that the Angels give Mike Trout some help
how are you..well I hope

I'm still here, I'm just not wasting pearls of wisdom on the swine it's a wasted effort. Those who actually want to talk baseball I respond to, those who like to ridicule just to ease their phallic deficiency syndrome like Lou, why bother?
