This is the unfortunate truth of it for us fans.
Arte is a businessman first, and his business has been extremely successful. Winning doesn't affect that. He's made a profit and will eventually make 5-6 times over what he bought the franchise for. And there's not a damn thing any of us can do about it.
I'm not saying he doesn't care about winning, but it's absolutely a distant second to him making a profit.
The double-edged sword of being in a market like the Angels, is you get a laid back atmosphere as well as a bunch of fans who aren't as passionate about what's actually going on on the field. That's why you can boycott the games all you want and it will have minimal impact because someone else will gladly buy your seat and enjoy a relaxed evening out at the stadium. So Arte never faces the scrutiny he would in New York, Boston, or LA. He dipped into the LA market and got all the tv revenue without any of the expectations that come with it.
