    I like Ohtani pitching, I like Ohtani hitting. I hate the special workload management part that comes with it. The entire rotation has to adjust his schedule. It was crazy trying to buy single tickets last season because we never knew when he would be in the lineup. It was always about how he was feeling after a start. Oh well he’s been great so far so we have to go with it.

    I think he’ll be fine to pitch. The only question will be about his velocity and if he’s able to get ML hitters out. We will all find out next season.

    Henry Aaron would’ve hit a 1000 home runs with today’s baseballs and ballparks. The integrity of MLB comes into question. But La Stella has 16 knocks so I can live with that.

    If he can’t pitch then he will be the most prolific DH in MLB history. Strad, if he has another arm injury then he certainly shouldn’t be playing any position that requires him to throw the ball hard.

    Geez Strad, he’s not a first baseman. Pitching and hitting are his true assets. He would be a huge defensive liability at first base.

    Arte has consistently stuck to a budget that he’s comfortable with. We have a lot of Arb cases coming up and Adell is most likely of a legit 2021 starter. Upton and Pujols are already showing their wear and tear. We need 2 more starting pitchers, middle relief and a stud closer. All expensive decisions.

    Those backloaded deals for Upton and Pujols will start to add up. Arte seems to be comfortable with spending $160M - $170M so if they sign Cole for an additional $20M per they will have to spread the remainder of $40M - $50M for the other 20 roster spots.

    They’re already on the hook to pay 4 players a combined $102M next season. Trout alone gets a $20M raise. Cole will most likely want $20M per (i’m guessing). Eppler has never paid any pitcher a $100M+ contract. He’s also never given any Boras clients a $100M+ contract. Cole looks great but Bauer would actually be more of an Eppler type of acquisition but they’ll have to give up something significant to get it done.

    I don’t think he’ll look to retire because of it but it could very well end his season. Like Lou said, he’s a really good guy. My RF buddies in Oakland all talked positively about him.

    I completely agree. That’s why I’m confused about the WeNasty thing. That nickname is more of a Dodger type thing. Our organization is far from being nasty. We are struggling to get out of 4th place. We certainly don’t need to be throwing at hitters and face retaliation on Trout or Ohtani. Let’s BeNasty in the postseason.

    The play sucked but it actually went in our favor. But put it all together. We had an 8-4 lead and we lost it. We had a 10-8 lead and we lost that. We lost the game and it had nothing to do with the play at the plate.
