Any day the Angels win is a great day!
Light that baby up!
So nice to finally see some clutch hits with RISP, and some great starting pitching for a series win!

That will work!
Couldn't have asked much more from Soriano.
-
Say what you will about Washington, I'm a big fan of these 1 on 1 interactions he has with the players in tight situations, whether they work or not.
-
Here we go Soriano! Let's finish this outing of the season strong!
-
And a relatively quick 7th for Soriano.
Great way to respond after the Halos take the lead.
With the low pitch count, I'd give him another inning!

What was Moniak thinking going to 3rd? Cost us a run.
Not just 1, but probably 2, by not only making an out that kept him out of scoring position, but with now 2 ours instead of 1, taking a sacrifice away from the batter after Rengifo with him standing on third.
Just absolutely boneheaded.
-
And immediately Moniak costs us a run with a Rengifo triple!
Finally! The bats come alive!
-
PILLAR!
We finally have a lead!
And of course, Moniak biffs it with stupid baserunning.

What do we have, an 0-20 streak with RISP?
-
Of course it fouls off Thaiss' bat when it should have been a hit by pitch.
And now it hits his hand.
What the fu** is up with this team and bunting? Absolutely atrocious.

Do you have co-workers that have one primary job and still suck at it?
Sure, but we're not talking 1 or 2 or 3 people, we're talking an entire organization who has consistently sucked at situational hitting for almost a decade now.

What do you expect from sub mediocre hitters?
You'd think if your only job is to play baseball every single day for 6-7 months out of the year, at some point you'd see an upward trajectory of situational hitting improvement.
-
RISP is where Angel at-bats go to die.
Jesus.
Again, NO ball out of the infield with Adell on second base and 1 out. Just absolutely awful situational hitting.

Soriano has thrown 32 strikes out of 43 pitches...does he usually throw such a high percentage of strikes?
He's definitely been getting better with each start, it seems. But this is the first time I recall seeing such a high strike/ball percentage well...from any of our pitchers this season...
Adell base hit! Man he is so much better this year! 115 off the bat!

I see the Angels bats are still cold...have we at least been hitting the ball hard? Or are we whiffing?
-
Silver lining is we won't have another opportunity to go 0-fer with a runner standing on 2nd.

How do you watch the best pitch of the at bat when you've got 2 strikes on you.
-
I don't know if there's a stat to reference, but we have to be amongst the worst bunting team in MLB.
-
I feel good about this inning for the Halos.
Need to see a Pillar PH.

Once again...runner on 2nd to start the inning...ball doesn't leave the infield...

I don't recall anyone saying that after his first relief appearance this year.
