    There's a differences between being medicore and blatantly tanking. Cubs and Stros were medicore for a long time then finally realized that tanking and stockpiling talent is the best way to win the WS. And it worked.

    The only way to really prevent it is to have relegation. Worst 3 teams in the league get demoted to AAA. you can bet no team or owner would tank then.

    Yup. That's all they did till Theo came here and tanked. Houston did the same thing. Tanked hard, loaded up on talent and so a World Series.

    He was a great util/pinch hitter for the Nats last year. and wound have been a guy who could easily come in for Calhoun if here.

    But that's a good thing because that starts the Process and gives you high draft picks. the worst thing that can happen is to stay mediocre for 10 years because you don't get the draft picks and you aren't winning either.

    If you took Calhoun's BA stats out of the lineup I wonder how high the Angel's BA would be compared to the rest of the league.

    yup Boston at 268. Tampa 266 But I think Tampa has the best 1-9 because they are all tough outs. Mookie Betts skews Boston's average but there 7-9 seems like easy outs.
