Olbermann was actually smart and entertaining until he became so permanently infatuated with his own intelligence. He became mentally hard wired to believe that he was so much smarter than everyone else in the world that there was longer any reason for humility and certainly others opinions CANNOT have any value because nobody is his intellectual equal.
He became an intolerable blowhard. I’m sure he talks to himself every waking moment in fake conversations where he plays the role of the smart guy verbally defeating a dumb person.
I can’t see him even being capable of being happy or having real honest relationships now.
He is a pretty good example of how a very, very smart person can be wired in a way where their highly capable brain becomes their nemesis. It cost him everything.
His vanity drove him to being completely irrelevant and forgotten. I literally forgot about Olbermann until I saw his name here.
Imagine how his brain, if it ever had a moment of honest perspective, would process the fact that he made himself as irrelevant as the dumbest person in the world.
Devastating, likely irreversible defeat, with nobody to blame but himself.
Sad, but probably just.
I remember when he was channel 5 sportscaster. He was one of my favorite sportscasters as he injected humor and he was good on ESPN, then went off the deep end and became a blowhard.

What a blunder by the 1B. There were 2 outs. Dont get fancy

As someone who also lives in Vegas, if the A's move here, I think it would work. The AAA Stadium that we have for the Aviators is awesome. Best AAA park you will ever see. I dont know if it can be expanded at all, but it is in a nice area. One tidbit that a lot of visitors dont know is that Las Vegas Strip is technically not in the city limits. Its a unincorporated part of the county called Paradise.

Bundy is pitching the game they needed so badly. Now if our offense can get some more runs to make things a little less stressful. I would rather have our bullpen with a 9 run lead rather then a 2 run lead

Light it up. That is the you save the game. 3 Ks. Beautiful

I agree with most people here. I think if the Angels make the playoffs, they keep Sosh, if they falter without injuries being a factory, then we start over with a new manager. I like Sosh, but sometimes the voice and presence wears thin and new voice is needed. I have seen it in the company I work for, so all is good.

Now Scooter Gennett has hit his 4th HR of the game.

Has there ever been a game where 3 teammates had 5 RBIs & 2 teammates went 5 for 5 with over 5 RBIs all in the same game??
By far the best game of the season.

I was thinking the same thing too. I hope the results from the series loss are NOT the same this year.

Pretty much the dumbest thing ever. It's too hard for the youth of today to actually say or spell babe and it got shortened to bae.
Whats worse is when you have ladies in their 40's using that word. Its silly. I have become more of a reader of facebook updates then posting. I just take it all as entertainment. I am surprise that people share what they share though. They seem to forget you cant take it back. Especially photos.

Could you imagine Dipoto being manager of our beloved Angel?? Loria simply didnt want to pay a 3rd manager this year. (He is still paying Guillen) So its a win-win for Loria. If they suck, Jennings goes back as GM, if it is 2003 again, Loria is looked on as a genius.

Two of the three players you mentioned would be considered imposters. Reginald Martinez Jackson was born to a Puerto Rican woman and a half Puerto Rican man, and Rod Carew was Panamanian. Using Torii Hunter's logic, 67% of your examples were not black.
True, it was late night when I did my post and those were all I could think of quickly. We also had Don Baylor, Eddie Murray, Darryl Strawberry, Doc Gooden. I believe this post is now 100% .

I agree with him outside of the political jab. When I first started to watch baseball, you had Reggie, Dave Parker, Rod Carew and a bunch others. The problem is that Football and Basketball is easier to get the money right away. College baseball doesnt make as much money as football or basketball or get as much of the spotlight. MLB needs to work on this rather then try to interview managers and other players during games. Whats next blond bimbo dugout reporters???

I would say that if they win they are the dynasty of the even years in the 2010's. The odd years they are just the bumbling and hated Giants. That is all I can say about them.
-
I agree. KC look the part of what makes playoff baseball exciting. Our Angels look like there wanting to know when tee time is.
-
I love this too. I have never seen any team so hot. And Oakland lost again tonight. 11 Game lead. Yeah baby.
-
It just seems that the team is finally having fun playing the game. This is the Angels team we have envisioned the last 2 years. This reminds me of the 2002-2009 run.

I have been on this board for awhile, just not logged in. I have explained on the old board (before the update) that I used to live in Southern California and had always been a fan of both teams.I am LA fan. I have gone to many games growing up. One of my dreams is a Freeway World Series.
-
Dont get me wrong. I am liking this too.
I havent been this excited about our team in awhile like most of you.
-
How much they have fallen. I know injuries have taken a toll. This feels great as a Angels fan
Does Ron Washington take the fall for this??
-
As my name says, I am a fan of both teams. I grew up in LA and have always liked both teams in the sports I love which are football and baseball. I loved both the Rams and the Raiders when they were here too. My dream bucket list is to see a Freeway World Series. This looked like a good year for that to happen, but its not going to happen. 2009 was the closest to that happening. I am really glad that the Dodgers are doing good. This year is 25 years since they won that series against the the A's where we had the most memorable WS HR with the greatest call of it.

That play was totally the pitchers fault
-
When they showed that Trout was .333 with bases loaded and with no HRs, I tol my wife that he would jack it out. I guess I was out.

Vin Scully passes away

As both a Dodger and Angels fan growing up in Southern California during the 80's, the summers belonged to Vin Scully announcing baseball. There was nobody better to listen to. Its sad that we as baseballs will never have any great people calling baseball games. Also mentioned earlier, we were spoiled to also have Chick Hearn and Bob Miller to announce games. If you want to expand, it was also awesome to have Madden announcing NFL games and Keith Jackson announcing Rose Bowl.
