  1. Thou'est rallying cry wil'st be "Hey, Aaaabbott !" from now on, O' Sweet Lou. Just to add, there isn't much to write about before the winter meetings. I did make a post on the Ryan LaMarre, though.
  2. They DFA'd Ortega when they added Jesse Chavez to the 40-man. Rafael chose the FA route, and is looking for greener pastures. Ortega has been at 50% his entire minors career from injuries... Perhaps something relapsed? He had been a top touted prospect for the Rockies, but now he's a journeyman 25-year old looking for work, (Que Sera, Sera)
  3. Although I am newer to board, soon my name shall reverberate throughout the ages. Already, my past incarnations are still revered amongst the Sherpa, and Hill Folk that adorn the ancient mountain tops. The names Nebuchadnezzar, Curly Joe, and Hypotenuse will soon have the addition of Dirk! alongside their greatness. B.T.W. Angels need at least one more reliable SP, or two good BP pieces to make themselves viable in 2017.
  4. Holliday still has a strong and capable bat at his age. With recent years' injuries, it would be wise to advertise himself as a DH, to which he could probably play another 3-4 years for an AL team with a decent contract. The problem with the Angels signing him is that Pujols is parked there for next 5 years, and Albert ain't going a nowhere !
  5. I made a list of my Top 5 sports movies for IMDB... 1) Hoosiers 2) The Natural 3) The Bad News Bears 4) Rocky 5) The Cutting Edge "The Bad News Bears" is a very underrated movie, plus it was film at Chatsworth Fields in the Valley where I played some all-star games in Colt League during the 70's. Side note: Invented movie drinks I had read about... The "Buttermaker Boilermaker" -Take a can of 16oz. Budweiser, pour out the top 3-4oz, and top it back up with Wild Turkey. Posit!
  6. Cotts is a pure LOOGY. Angels hadn't had one in awhile. Perhaps Eppler is trying to see if he could be usefull?
  7. Ortega, Navarro, Marte, and Cunnigham are being sent down. Cunningham has already cleared waivers, and has accepted the outright assignment (I guess). Choi, with his 200avg will be there opening day. The extra bullpen slot is going to either Bedriosian, or Mahle. If Weaver starts on the DL, then maybe both will stay... So I read.
  8. Shields wasn't under consideration before... he isn't under consideration now. The Angels are hoping to get by until May with a wounded Weaver, and when CJ Wilson + Skaggs are ready. If the need a fill-in gap starter until then, there will be plenty available when other teams make their final roster cuts.
  9. I migrated from the Angels Board. Those that were there know me well. Several of them came to this board so I'll give it the ol' Angels try.
