  1. Go Diablos am I right? I actually was at MetLife Stadium the week after the Sanchez Butt Fumble game to watch one of the worst games in NFL history Jets vs Arizona Cardinals. Arizona had their 3rd string QB playing who couldn't complete a set of downs. The Jets attempted 2 field goals that hit the uprights at each end zone and missed them both. Mark Sanchez was booed off the field and Rex Ryan had to bench him. I had great seats though front row at 40 yard line overlooking most of the action.
  2. I was only making a personal observation not extrapolating any results based on a 4.2 inning sample. Upon further research over 3 years with LAD ( again only 32 IP ) he went 5 - 0, .84 ERA, 21 Hits, 3 ERs, 6 BBs, 24 SOs, .844 WHIP. I did follow him in the Mets minors system moons ago and believed him to show promise back then. So don't assume I only caught a recent glimpse of him over 4 IP.
  3. 4.2 IP 1 Hit 1 BB 5 SO .75 WHIP 0.00 ERA Pretty good line in small sample 2 IP vs Angels on back to back days 2 IP vs Braves and .2 IP vs Cardinals. Someone upstairs was apparently impressed as was I based on this.
  4. FWIW I watched him pitch for the Mets last season and he looked good.
  5. You didn't watch the Mark Sanchez butt fumble then https://youtu.be/82RIfy-gRa4?si=RgFqG_B14CuGbUfw
  6. Howie Rose usually gets it right but Ohtani isn't really a Black Friday guy more of a Cyber Monday kind of guy.
  7. If Angels Nation puts their collective faith in Ohtani returning I believe it will happen. If the $ are comparable he will continue his record breaking quest with the team that brought him to the Dance and Arte will step up and all the bad karma that has been hanging around will lift. Amen Brothers!
  8. I read today that the same psychic who predicted Ohtani would sign with the Angels in 2017 has eliminated most teams including Dodgers. Psychic gets positive sense about Mets but more so he returns to Angels at the end of the day.
  9. Good hire extremely qualified proven winner except for Josh Hamilton risk. He has paid his dues since then so hope for the best
  10. Think outside the box. Hire Buck to train Yadier in dealing with media, the FO, experience etc. the nuances. When he is ready remove the training wheels.
  11. The elephant in the room is Ohtani who you try to negotiate with. If this fails go full bore at Yamamoto et al.
  12. He's Baaack! Escaped the Mets.
  13. The Cardinals are obviously pursuing Yadier to be a Coach but they already have a manager so Yadier doesn't have an opening. Make him an offer he can't refuse. Carpe Diem! I like Buck but he didn't stand up to Eppler regarding Dan Vogelbach. He just gave up doesn't have the fire in the belly any more sort of like another Joe Maddon probably.
  14. We all watched Molina for 19 seasons we know what he's not going to put up with, how he takes charge and that he won't back down. Seriously, five months into retirement he managed team Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic and took them to the Quarterfinals. Add that to being a 10-time all-star, a two-time World Series champion, a two-time National League Champion, nine Gold Glove Awards and four Platinum Glove Awards — what more could you ask for in a manager?
  15. The hook is to hire him as manager in training under Buck who would understand this is the plan.
  16. Best move here is to hire Buck for his experience and skillset as the safe choice and to hire Yadier Molina to groom him for future manager. He has managed Team Puerto Rico and Venezuela team and he is top quality player with organizational connections.
  17. Craig Counsell has max leverage right now. After Halloween his Brewer contract expires and he can negotiate a Bruce Bochy max deal by playing Brewers against Steve Cohen's wallet. Interesting to watch this one from the sidelines as he has David Stearns in his corner.
  18. Jose can be 1B Coach https://www.mlb.com/world-baseball-classic/roster/puerto-rico
  19. My recollection and not sure about this but didn't he coach in ST for the Angels at least one time?
  20. Move fast before the Cardinals grab him and before Steve Cohen can talk to Craig Counsell who will try to hold him up for $.
  21. I love the guy he is a winner. Hire him on the spot.
  22. Catchers IMO make the best managers having an understanding of both the pitching and the hitting and defense and are natural Team leaders Yadier being one of the all time greatest. He was on my fantasy baseball team and I didn't need a backup as he played nearly every game.
  23. Angel Oracle, Buck was MOY in 2022 and they played aggressive stellar baseball winning 101 Games but hit the wall in September choked the division to the Braves and made an early exit in postseason. It was all downhill for him from there. He has flaws and can't get over the top. Unfortunately he is a bit tone deaf and is incapable of pushing the right buttons. He is no Bruce Bochy. If I were inolved in the decision here I would go with an up and comer. One of my Favorites would be Yadier Molina who recently coached Team Puerto Rico in WBC and who has family history in the organization.
