Is it at all realistic to hope that Arte will just give him his 30 million this offseason and tell him thank you but we need the roster spot? Or are we just going to ride it out again?

Yeah, it's possible. But I'd say it's beginning to become pretty doubtful. Like I said, he doesn't even have to be that good of a hitter for this trade to easily be worth it. Time will tell

I like the trade, but I'd be absolutely blown away if that happens. Obviously hoping it does. La Stella put up a 122 OPS+ in his 2 years in Anaheim, that's a lot to ask out of Barreto. I'd settle for a 95 OPS+ with great defense out of him

Pearson was the 8th ranked prospect in baseball. I just can't see that happening, I'll streak if it does though

Based on my Baseball Reference scouting of Barreto, his big downfall appears to be his inability to take a walk. 7 walks in 219 plate appearances. Oof
