  1. Yeah, I thought the same thing--and even looked at his 2003/2004 gamelogs to confirm! Even in the year he had 232 walks, though, he still didn't have a streak as long as Cullenbine's.
  2. Don't worry: they'll give him a $100K raise this time around, and all will be good!
  3. 22 games in a row, by Roy Cullenbine in 1947: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cullero01.shtml Game log: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.cgi?id=cullero01&t=b&year=1947&share=2.25#1097-1118-sum:batting_gamelogs
  4. If Kendrick misses a significant amount of time, Trout might not see another hittable pitch all year. While I'm happy to see him getting on base, all of the walks are getting a little boring.
  5. I've only been watching this game off and on, and haven't been following this thread, so forgive me if you guys have already talked about this, but doesn't Jerome seem to be uncomfortable out there on the mound tonight? He's taking forever between pitches. Happy to see zeroes on the board, though.
  6. Wait--you "liked" your own post? Lame!
  7. I had forgotten that he did actually pitch 1 inning at Inland Empire this year, picking up a save. So: good investment!
  8. Ha. Thanks for all of your contributions, Ryan!
  9. So you made a bunch of guesses and didn't think it was important to reveal that in the article? As Junky noted, your analysis led to some flawed conclusions.
  10. Yeah, I really don't get this at all. The slash numbers are kinda sorta close to his overall career numbers, but not really. And if you're using his career stats rebased to 600 ABs, shouldn't you do the same for Callaspo? Weird article.
  11. I'm confused. Where are you getting those stats for Nelson that you use to project his totals in 600 ABs?
  12. It's a weak year for rookies, but I still don't think he'll win. Myers probably will.
  13. I hear Brandon Wood is available again, too.
  14. Bourjos has barely played. Pujols barely played first before he went on the DL. Aybar missed 30 games.
  15. I think it's also a reflection of the random collection of retreads, has-beens, and never-weres that are run out there on a daily basis. There are obviously reasons why guys like Nelson, Shuck, Brendan Harris, etc have bounced around or been released by other teams.
  16. Don't worry: Butchy is in the dugout, rubbing and patting Ernie on the legs, givin' him a good ol' pep talk!
  17. Probably also has something to do with the fact that he's had Hamilton or Trumbo hitting after him in most of those games, so pitchers are maybe just deciding not to throw him anything decent.
